Neither is going to happen, but Artest does seem a little bit more realistic. James, Artest, Lewis, Francis I would be thrilled with any of these.

for those saying no money or save money all the time..so every season we want to settle for the cheap player and conservative jvg style and get mediocre season and get kicked off the first round playoffs as usual? DOn't you guys realise it's part of the philosophy that needs to change for things to change?? Look at the spurs it's no miracle. They have at least 3 all stars and a bunch of great players that support them. Rockets? Reality is they only have 2 great players..i don't even consider them better than any of the spurs all stars (ginobili, parker, tim)

We're getting neither, because Lewis is going somewhere in Florida and management doesn't want Bipolar Ron

Three voters on this forum are voting for us to keep the same team. Possibly their real names could be selected from the following: Howard, Battier, Hayes. Alston and V Span :p

With the rumored players involved in deals for these two, it almost sounds like we COULD end up with both. :D

... But odds are that we will end up with neither. :(

This is basketball not the United Nations..problems come and go for artest but he gives more problems to the other team and he's no rasheed wallace who leads the league in technical ejections. I'd take him if there is any chance. With our problem free players they;re not good enough which is a bigger problem than ron artest

    Artest:
    Pros
    - Better defender than Battier
    - Can legitimately cover most PF's (sorry, not Duncan)
    - Comes on a very reasonable contract
    - Might be obtained for much cheaper than Rashard
    - One year rental if something goes wrong
    - Has previous experience with Adelman

    Cons
    - Is crazy
    - Isn't a lights out shooter
    - Takes too many tough shots
    - One year rental in case something goes right

    Lewis:
    Pros
    - Amazing shooter and scorer
    - A true go-to scoring option, unlike Artest
    - Is sane

    Cons
    - Will be expensive
    - We'd have to give up Battier
    - Can't play the PF position effectively
    - Plays bad defense

Weighing all the options, I'd probably take Artest if we could get him for the rumored crumbs. Our starting lineup would be a defensive nightmare and he's a good defensive/offensive option. I like Rashard much better, but he comes at too high a cost.
