I totally agree. After the Brawl and the Wife problems I don't want him to embarrass our team. It will just end up with Ron getting suspended and killing our team when we needed him to play the best. And if there ever was a fight i don't want Tracy in there. He may pull off a Carmelo Anthony. IMO Lewis a much better player anyway. Also a hometown boy.

It is sad that so many people would want a psycho like Artest on their team. If we get him, he is going to blow up in our face. Book it. Where is Pacertom when we need him.
I voted for Artest. It's close, but the reason I chose Artest is because I really want a killer on this team. Lewis is a whole lot like Yao and T-Mac in his on court demeanor. We really need some fire.
Lewis no doubt....Artest has too much baggage.... I would go for Lewis AND Bibby although this is remotely impossible....
I chose Artest because he is a lot cheaper to aquire as far as us giving up talent. Plus he is easier on the cap than Lewis. My main reason for choosing Artest is because he is a legit two that would allow TMac to slide back over to the three spot.
After we get Artest we should trade Battier ++ for Elton Brand. Then find us a Point Guard who is willing to be the team leader and pass the ball to the open shooter.
That seems all good for a few seasons..then our starting lineup is around 30+ years old, if we made good draft picks for the future i'd be up for it, but you know how grand our drafting skills are..not too great.
Although it would be nice to have our hometown guy back in a Rocket's uniform it would not be wise to get a finese player like Lewis to play with Yao on the court. We need Artest who could bring strenghth and determination to the Small Forward position we would then trade Battier+ to the clippers and obtain the services of Elton Brand to play the Power Forward Position. Tracy McGrady would return to play his natural position as Shooting Guard, giving up leading the team to our new starting Point Guard. This team would have four players who can put the ball in the basket and ready for the big time!

I voted for artest too. We need a player on this team that wont back down to anybody. Lewis is just too timid just like Yao and T-Mac.

Look at it this way, it usually takes Artest a couple of years before he goes into full crazy mode. Currently his contract has 1 year and a player option. That should be enough to hold him off before he becomes a free agent.
I voted Artest, but only after thinkig hard about it. His attitude definetly worries me but I would take the gamble on him. Not only is his defense is top notch, his offensive game is very versatile. I believe Sactown had him running the point various times during the games.If we do get him, hopefully Adelman can keep him focused enough to stay out of trouble.
The combination of Rashard not being a good fit and his asking price is what scares me. Having three max contracts on one team certainly isn't ideal. Carrying three max contracts is only worth it if it guarantees championships and I don't think Rashard boosts us into that category. Artest is cheaper and can legitimately play the four on a team like our's. He's much cheaper and is about 300x the defender Rashard is. I'm much more willing to gamble with the "psycho factor" than with paying Rashard $15M+ a year and having to stomach more mediocrity.
i'd love to get either one of them but you have to take the gamble with artest if you can get him. i think he's a level above rashard on the basketball court.
