The sad statistic that you left out of your post is, Cato is 27 years old & Dream is 39 years old. Yet, their stats are virtually even, or slightly in favor of Dream. Cato can't out play an old man. I would love to see Dream eat Cato alive.
Bear in mind that Cato has to play against better big men. Olajuwon just needs to make sure he doesnt collapse.
Nothing personal, but I'm getting tired of hearing this excuse. The only teams in the west with dominant centers are the Lakers, Spurs, & possibly Portland (if Rasheed plays center). The rest of the dominant big men are PF's. Is Cato guarding them every night? I don't think so. The point is that Cato is not playing the Lakers & Spurs every night. Therefore, his averages should be higher than they are. The only reason his scoring average is where it is, is because Francis has been looking for him under the basket for dunks. A perfect example of an undersized big man in the west is Elton Brand. He's 6'8" 265 lbs. & he's averaging 18.7 ppg, 11.8 rpg, 1.97 bpg & he played in the east last year. Cato is 6'11" 255 lbs. & he's not even in the same league as Brand. I know that Cato is supposed to be our future at center, but I'd be willing to bet just about anything that, when healthy, Dream (39 years old) could whoop Cato's 27 year old a** on the court, any day of the week.
About Mark Twain's quote, there's sonly so much you can be in denial about. I gave you so much proof. Forget statistics, who goes to the rack more, Vince ith his 22 attempts, or Steve with his 16? Have you seen Vince and Steve play?
Rightfully so. His team is suffering because of it. If they wanted a spot-up shooter, they'd ask for Walt Williams. But they need him to do much much more for his team.
