As Bosh is about to find out, you cant win once you've been labeled deadbeat, rightly or wrongly. Time to pay up.
What a douchebag. You make millions a year and you can't even pay for your pregnant girlfriends appointments? Chris Bosh - you're a ****ing asshat.
[tinman]Who cares? You're not a true fan if you don't love Chris Bosh just because he bailed on his baby's momma...after paying for her to get pregnant. He's a good person because he's a good basketball player.[/tinman]
You cant compare Bosh to Malone. Malone knocked up a 14 year old and literally told his son some 20 years later "you're on your own". Thats a bar that just can't be lowered. I am a fan of Bosh, and even though its hard for me to think he would pull a stunt like this, especially since everyone knew who she was, I wouldn't put it passed him. There's 2 sides to every story, but his image is tarnished, thats for sure.
+1. Unless Bosh did something illegal, no way is he going to go to Malone's level. He isn't even on Boozer's level of scumbagginess yet because all we know is his GF's side of the story. Btw did Malone go to trial for knocking up that 14 yr old? Isn't that having sex with a minor illegal and shouldn't he be charged with statutory rape or something?
Bosh is only guilty of not loving the Mother of his child. He is a deadbeat now with his daughter not even a year old? ex⋅ag⋅ger⋅ate -at⋅ed, -at⋅ing. –verb (used with object) 1. to magnify beyond the limits of truth; overstate; represent disproportionately: to exaggerate the difficulties of a situation. When you're done with this one look up the word "fickle".
I guess she's never heard of attorney general? All she had to do is file, get he 20% and chill for 18 yrs. Its the oldest gold digger trick in thed book.
many stories like this, gold diggers? yes. but the other side has been rarely a saint. it really takes 2 to tango.
She's cooked for Dallas Cowboys. She hooks up with Chris Bosh. She gets in the presense of the great King James and cant keep herself contained, just had to make some showing. Easy to say she loves the athletes and the lifestyle that comes with it. Unless they're already famous or well-to-do, thats how it is sometimes with with athlete girlfriends/wives though. Cant fault them for working the sports pool up to a marquee player. But yeah either the Olympic stage made Bosh feel like a big figure, and after some Beijing trim he had a change of heart and douched it up from there. Or he maybe figured he got pulled in too far to all her demands, it was all mostly about her getting herself secured and she mailed it in when she was gonna get what she wanted. He contested his paternity after taking fertility drugs? Somehow though I doubt she was making the rounds while she was in mid term pregnancy
When you admit to it and say you will "take care of responsibilities" accordingly (now that you got served court papers ).
He admits to being the father now that there has been a paternity test. That does not mean that he is guilty of everything she accused him of. And again, he may have had good reason to suspect he wasn't the father, so that could explain why he didn't want to get close to the child before he knew for sure.
Since I gave his x's side of the story, only fair I post his side as well. http://www.thestar.com/Sports/article/609907 Affidavit tells Bosh's side of story Chris Bosh, maintaining that he tried to provide financial support to his ex-girlfriend for the couple's daughter even before the child was born, has fired his own court salvo at Allison Mathis. According to an affidavit obtained by the Star and filed in a Maryland court yesterday, Bosh said he's a caring father ready and willing to take care of medical and living expenses for Trinity, the couple's 4-month-old daughter. Mathis, contending Bosh abandoned her when she was seven months pregnant, filed suit in November seeking sole custody and unspecified expenses after she said she was forced to return to her Maryland home. Bosh's response, filed yesterday, paints an entirely different picture, according to the affidavit. "Accounting from November 2008, I have sent monthly support payments for my daughter to (Mathis); however (Mathis) has not cashed those checks (sic)," Bosh's affidavit says. Also, Bosh said he covered health care, transportation and other routine expenses from even before the original Mathis suit was filed. "I am a little surprised by your decision to go to Maryland so close to the baby's birth, but that is your choice," Bosh wrote to Mathis in an email dated Oct. 21. "I assume you will be moving back (to the Dallas area) at some point? I have tried to take care of the things you have requested for the baby and I have been and always will be willing to do so. I'm not sure what your concerns are about that. ... I do not understand your statements saying I have not helped. Let me know if there is something else you expect me to do for the baby." Bosh and Mathis are embroiled in a seemingly-public battle over custody and support payments. Mathis wants the case heard in Maryland because that's where she and the child reside; Bosh wants it heard in Texas, where courts have a history of treating fathers more leniently than mothers. "There's a 19th-century phrase that Texas is hell on horses and women, and I would say, also on dependent children," Grier Raggio, Mathis's lawyer, told the Star Thursday. "Texas is very stingy to financially dependent women and children. ... In other states, they feel the child should be able to participate in the father's standard of living. In Texas, it's not that way. "The Texas child support guidelines state that dependent children should receive up to $1,500 a month. Above that, it's up to the discretion of a judge."
Seriously, when will athletes learn? Chris Bosh may or may not be a bad person, but he's definitely guilty of bad judgment. I'm guessing what happened was that once the gal got knocked up she knew she was set. So she stopped the whole pretense of not being a gold-digger that she is. That said, once the baby's here, there's nothing you can do. Chris Bosh should just stop being mad. Pay up the money, eat his pride, and people will eventually forget. And be glad you still have millions left over even after she's taken her share.
could have used WAY fewer words saying "bait and switch" i know what you're getting at. But he should be all mad at himself and just pay up. Just forget about being took to the cleaners by a gold digger? Who was maybe a wolf in sheep's clothing to people, but for Bosh in his eyes she was a sheep in sheep's clothing. This is EXACTLY why women gold dig and try harder to have kids - cuz its already set in place beforehand that is on the man to man up, to be accountable for his own "lack of awareness" of the situation, have the responsibility when things go wrong, and the money to pay for all the damages. And women is, allowed to change her mind whenever...and use the archaic notion of she's in distress-he's a dog. Her own manufactured distress Again I do know what you're getting, and in a lot of athletes cases thats what it should be. Based on Bosh's email SHE altered the status of the relationship and suffers no consquence. . IMO Bosh has every right to be mad even if he is partly to blame
