Fair price for a very solid role player.

You mean like the Rockets until they stole Harden from a desperate team needing cap room?

This phrase is no longer applicable to the current Masai Ujiri Raptors.

God this is true, Rockets management has to watch this, recently we've had so many very good players. Then because of the current coaching staff doesn't know how to use them, let them go only to see them succeed elsewhere and then work to get them back.

What does it say when you have talented player after talented player get sent away with the exception of White and then be successful with the team they were sent to?

For sure, you'd keep an eye out for a potential breakout player like Lowry, but teams need stable, team-first lunchpail guys like Patterson too. He'll never be a star, but he hustles, plays smart team defense, hits the mid-ranger, knows how to pass, and is, I believe, very consistent.

Six million may seem a little high, but it's in the acceptable range for me for Patterson's skillset.

Not a horrible deal, as was the Lowry deal, but not really sure what Toronto is trying to do here long term. I guess just making the playoffs is good enough for now. Whatevs... you'll be able to trade for half of the 2Pat's in the league 6 months from now either way. Mid-level type contracts almost never pay off.

What the Raptors want to become is a better Sacramento Rockets.

They made Lowry and Patterson walk on Hakeem's tracks.

Because the team needs to be sold in the semi near future due to NFL restrictions (he bought the St Louis Rams so because of the Broncos he has to sell the Nuggets). The NFL gave them a few years where the son runs things to organise it but I think the deadline is this year. Generally carry over executives aren't a good idea for sales.

When you say lunch pail I think of guys who love to scrap and get down and dirty with other players, Patterson is extremely skilled but he's also extremely passive and avoids contact, there were many nights were he played 30 mins and only got 3 rebs.

His build is identical to Al Horford, with his skillset and high Bball IQ Patpat could've been the next PF star in the league. I dunno what Ujiri is thinking, I guess he wants to have the Raps reach the playoffs first but 6M is hardly "good value" for Patpat IMHO, it's on the high end of his market value.
