They needed cap space, so they didn't want to take on money.

Why would we want to take on that garbage salary? That would be a favor to TOR.

What the hell is with all these dumbass rookies making stupid threads.

You really want to pay JOSE CALDERON 10 million dollars for the next 2 years?

    1yr.

Calderon is an expiring contract. Plays both guard positions.

Martin or Scola for Calderon is possible. Wwhether either side would have wanted to?, we don't know.

PURE CAPSPACE IS BETTER THAN CALDERON.

Giving them martin or scola would make them too good, were hoping they get as low of a pick as possible.

If the Raptors decide to amnesty waive Calderon, and if the Rockets preserve a little cap space this summer, they could actually bid on Calderon and end up getting him for, say, $2-3M next year.

Maybe we were going for the salary cap flexibility in order to take back bad contracts.

You ruin flexibility the second you do that.

Once that trade goes down Calderon can't be traded I believe till Dec 15th. So you are out of the Dwight Howard sweepstakes.

Getting a capable PG seems to be Morey's forte (it seems he is also good at getting rid of them at just the right time, ala Brooks/Rafer, TBD on Dragic and Lowry), so that doesn't worry me much. I know it is tough to get a Superstar. So if you got a chance for a Dwight, you go for it because it is a lot easier to get little pieces than the Superstar.

I suppose if we are gonna tank properly I would rather have someone like Lin who is young and some sort of upside or full tank mode like it currently sits if the Knicks match us. I have no problem in dropping games and having extra money next year in full tank mode.

Op you would agree with have excess at the powerforward slot right? Maybe someone wants one of them or two for a decent young point guard?
