I think it's pretty clear...if the Rockets are doing this all for Dwight they are hopelessly desperate and foolish. FINALLY they have a nice start to rebuilding. Stick with it. Be Patient. The sooner you start this process the better.
If we trade for Dwight now it will because Les has demanded that we have an All-Star at the game in Houston. I could see no other reasoning.
I don't want to make the freaking fakers better. NO trading with your rival!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i do understand your point.
The Raptors have made the playoffs 5 times in 17 seasons. 3 in a row, and twice in a row. I'd agree it would be unlikely to make it 5 in a row.
Lowry led the Rockets to plus better records with the Rockets than most playoff teams in the EAST Its easier to make the playoffs in the EAST, than the WEST. sub 500 teams make the playoffs in the EAST
LMAO chances are nearly zero that he would extend .. if we scrap such a great start to a rebuild for a diva rental I'll be pissed ..We are in a prime position with some nice upside players and a chance to add more next draft ...If we fail to get howard to stay it could take 5 years of tanking to get back to this point.
I'm tired of people going to such lengths to defend Morey. I think I've given him more excuses than most people but even now he seems to have no direction. People are saying "derr the Lowry trade saves us cap room"...yes...but Morey also just signed a much suckier player who make 3m a year more a year than Lowry on a much longer contract. Morey's a tard.
Let's hear your reasoning on why he won't then? Bar Morey not wanting him still or Bynum getting trade there is nobody else that can compete with the Rox offer.
Same. I really wanted Dwight prior to the draft and wouldn't have minded giving up 12,16 and 18 or in a package or a combo of them but knowing what we have now I'm pretty excited about the 3 players we ended up with and I'd like to see what they can do.
While I agree that a total rebuild is now the single likeliest avenue for the Rockets going forward, there WOULD be some talent remaining on the Rockets if a Dwight Howard trade were made. The Rockets now have sufficient cap space to sign Omer Asik to an offer sheet without renouncing their rights to Courtney Lee. If the trade is Martin, picks and even 3 of the Rockets' top prospects (let's say Lamb, White and Motiejunas), they'd still be left with the following rotation: [FA]/Livingston Lee Parsons/Morris Scola/Patterson/Jones Howard/Asik Plus the Rockets' own 2013 pick (they can't trade it due to the NJ--now ATL--pick obligation) and MAX CAP ROOM in 2013 to make a run at Chris Paul. FYI, I'm not necessarily advocating for this approach. I'm just saying that the stockpile of "assets" is deep enough to leave a serviceable team to play with Howard AND be players the following summer.
Let's give Morey five more years and if we still don't have another championship then the handwriting's on the wall, no MIT big shot gonna fool us for more than 10 yrs and get away with it. "Fire Morey in 2017"
The one thing that would really make this the worst offseason ever. Trading all our youth and picks for Dwight and simply waiting for him to walk the next summer.
Bima, I'm sorry bro. I don't really think that rotation is all that. Plus ...I don't even like Drama Dwight. Keep in mind we are now up against rotations like Miami's, Brooklyn's, and the Lakers'.
