Same. Soon they're going to be saying Lil Wayne is a better MC then Big L because he sold more records.

Is it wrong that I refuse to call him Drake, and instead much prefer to call him Aubrey, or "wheel chair jimmy" ?
Plus, I don't like his comments on Larry Bird :p

lol jk . carry on, I'll leave and go talk about cell phones :)

I truly don't get your logic. You don't pay attention to Common's music, purchase or listen to it but yet you feel the need to argue that Drake is a better rapper. That just makes your opinion on the subject not worth taking into consideration. Rather the one's by those that actually buy/listen to music by both artists actually carry more weight.

As someone that listened/listens to both of them, Drake don't want none.
As a rapper he's not even equipped to sniff Common's jock(But I will refrain from calling Common an all-time great like some others on here have decided to do-hyperbole?)

I acknowledge I dont buy Common's albums...solely based that his music doesn't make me want to buy it... I get Common is a battle-rapper who has done it for some time.. I get his music now is Kanye-produced, thus makes it radio friendly... I get Drake aint a battle-rapper... I get that Drake's lyrics aren't for the average "real hip hop" fans... But saying Common is better, because he been in the game longer , or his diss is better is narrow-minded, IMO of course... I like music...example Wale, Curren$y, Drake, and Ross... Old school, I loved Dana-Dane, Slick Rick, and LL Cool J... would I say Drake is better than them...Yes except maybe LL... I dont penalize the dude for being a new-school artist... His songs jammin, whether he rap, harmonize, or whatever... Some artists are just better point blank...Jay is better than Wayne by far IMO....But would I say someone like Common is better, no...Wayne sucks but I jam his music occasionally... Never have jammed a Common track or even heard a Common track in someone's vehicle unless its radio...

    The Heat are supposedly the best ever because they've got highlights and are so hot right now, not because they've won anything. Similar arguments? <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tevv2eiecCA?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tevv2eiecCA?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

I must be living under a rock, but initially, I thought common was only an actor. I've never even heard of his songs.

When did Drake become a rapper, he's a singer that makes mainstream radio tunes

Just like all the kids that are born in this new generation thinking Ice Cube is an "Oreo" actor not a rapper. Lol.

I didn't know there are people on this board nuthugged Drake to death. I mean is he really worth defending, he's not even a rapper, he;s a singer that does make some catchy songs on the radio. I would expect this from teen girls on twitter.

Who cares who is a real rapper or whatever. Nas destroyed Jay. Jay sells out toyota center nas would be lucky to sell out house of blues. Common is a nobody. If I were drake I would be like scoreboard.

Why is there even beef between the two? Common just started beef out of nowhere?

If so, that's stupid, and the definition of a hater.

Jay actually has the catalog to hold his own and be called a good rapper. I don't think that is a fair comparison seeing how its between to rap greats whereas this feud is between 1 good rapper and a singer.

From what I understand is Common is engaged to Serena Williams. Drake said some stuff about her, Common got offended.

The difference is Nas and Jay are still both legends in the rap game.
Common and Drake will both be forgotten.

The one thing I hate about Drake is his nasally-ass voice. And his random jazz hands in midair while freestyling. LOL.

Lemme guess...something about her butt? Drake wouldn't be the first, and certainly not the last. She is kind of man-ish. Maybe it was about her outbursts at ball girls or chair umpires. Uh-oh, i'm hatin. Hope Common raps about me next :)

Most people that are disappointed with rap today make this same conclusion...So I'll just keep jammin what I bought for my stereo... While you do like everybody else and wait for that Common's greatest hits compilation to manifest... Bout to blaze one...Holla!!!

Don't think that Common will be that easily forgotten.

Common doesn't have a huge fanbase. Common isn't THAT mainstream.

Neither are Talib Kweli or KRS-One. They won't be forgotten to hip hop heads. And Common has a pretty strong following his music just isn't mainstream.
