man i dont care what y'all say i live in LA between the 405, the 10 and 110 nothing can beat that triad of traffic terror
77449 here but born and Raised 01152 (LOOK THAT SHIXNIT UP ) and then raised in the mean streets of 5th Ward as a 713'er. I HOV now... got no complaints texanskan can b*tch about. I don't know why, but he complains about complainers... sounds like a violin somewhere is starting to play... I must say, brother, you got a lot of nerve showing your face around here... I once drove that stretch of Californian terrain when I took the family to Anaheim. I got to know that part of your town 'cuz the traffic reporter ALWAYS mentioned the 405... I feel your pain, brother. I feel your pain.
Calling this "traffic" in Houston is nothing...take a trip to LA like they say and you will finally realize what it means to have real road rage. No matter what time you go anywhere your in traffic. I only go to visit a few times a year and I go crazy.
Houston is the reason I laugh when I hear Austinites b**** about traffic. "Aww, did it take you 20 whole minutes to get from Westlake to the Arboretum? You poor rich a**hole."
Dude. I live inside the loop. The traffic inside the loop sucks ass. The worst traffic I see is 59 between Kirby and downtown. When you are passing Newcastle and the sign says 36 minutes to downtown, you are offically in hell. Have you gone to Highland Village recently? The traffic around there is awful. I am looking to move outside the beltway so my weekends can be relatively traffic free.
texanskan -- is this a follow up to your post about how the Astros aren't interesting because they don't date interesting people?? or is it a follow up to the post about how steroids don't help NFL players??? just curious.
I've been to LA...twice. Stayed in Hollywood with trips to Santa Monica, Studio City, Pasadena, Montrose, and Monrovia. The traffic was bad, worse than here...but it wasn't the nightmare people describe. Chicago is much...MUCH worse.
where is this? 214/972 well that's what it was.... 281 now. 832 cell phone. 77095 zip..... its too far out. gotta love those 45 minute drives on 290 to 610 how about those 979 people? they live way out there.
Nobody knows about that 979? It was 409 back when I was a youngin'... But grandma was 713 fo life, in that 77009, and spent most of my days ridin' that 288 north to get there and back, by way of that I-forty fizzle fo shizzle, to the Norteno Main Street exit bay bay... Brooksmith Heights addition represent! (but I grew up in the 77566)
Houston has gotten way too big essentially, and the city sprawls all the way west to Katy and Richmond now thanks to the Grand Parkway and the new Westside Tollway. You can't allow that kind of unregulated development without causing traffic problems.
look at the monstrosity.... the 4th loop will be outside conroe i bet. we're just building a spider web. http://www.grandpky.com/home/
this thread jinxed my drive home in austin. i have no idea why the whole city was in the right lane trying to exit 2222, so i took the longest uturn in austin history, i took bee caves all the way to lakeway and took 620 back to 2222. its too damn cold to be going to the lake, what the hell was going on today!
Jesus. That is completely out of control. The 99 between I-10 and 59 has already created a sea of cookie cutter homes, walgreens, and home depots.
Are there a lot of lights/Christmas displays at homes out that way? I bet that was it... people going to see the lights...
the only lights i saw were an ocean of car lights. on my detour, i did drive through the Hill Country Galleria (same people who made the Htown one) its pretty nice, all outdoors http://www.hillcountrygalleria.com/index_customer.aspx
