    you have seen my house

thats about the right size I think, maybe a touch smaller

mortage is right at 600 last I checked.

good neighborhood, close to just about any store I need (short of Frys)

still close enough to get to anything Houston has to offer with minimal traffic problems getting into the city.

for the record...if age of buildings has anything to do with anything, theres tons of buildings out here that easily fit that requirement. This area out here didnt spring up because Houston needed someplace for people to move to...it was a rinkydink town long before that happened.

you like where you live? great...jsut dont be looking down at those of us who choose to live outside the loop...it makes you look like a pretentious douche

I didn't start this thread, but I'm not a fan of living outside the loop. Pasadena and Baytown, as well as LaPorte were built long ago due to the ship channel. Hell, I grew up in Baytown.

But living out in the middle of the boonies as in Westheimer and Hwy 6 (is there even a name for that part of town, or in Katy or the Woodlands without even checking what costs are nearer in is ludicrous.

As RM95 said, he has roommates. I guaran f***in' tee you you can easily find something close to town with a roommate for close to $500/mo.

Hell, my two-story condo in Montrose is only $825/mo. And I get free cable. The electric bill sucks though, only because I have such a large place.

Not comparable to where I'm living now I can't. And why would I want to live there when most of my friends live in the "boonies"?

    ftr

the last two thoughts(specifically the last sentence) were directed at the ones that fit the description.

I was initially responding to the money for square footage bit of your post.

so, help me out a little with terminology here....urban sprawl that some whine about is referring more to the areas that sprung up specifically to give Houston more room(the entire west side) and not necessarily to the east side areas that sprang up due to other factors such as space industry(CL, Webster, Seabrook) and the port(Pasadena, Baytown, La Porte, Channelview etc)?
