was pulled over and got a ticket about 30 mins ago. when i rains it po... errr... rains like cow piss on a flat rock. i was driving without my license (lost my wallet earlier this week), so i had my passport just to have some sort of identification until i got to the dmv. anyhow, i deserved it. they were having problems trying to locate me in their system so i gave them the license number (have it memorized). before that they asked if i was from new orleans. wtf? i said "no" and they waited for a response back from their headquarters on the number i gave to them. to make things worse he started looking at my passport more and noticed that it said new orleans under the "authority" field (i guess that's where it was processed or something... i dunno). so they questioned me about being from there again. a minute or two later, the number i gave them cleared and i was sent on my merry way with the ticket. i remember back when i was still going out drinking a few months ago that every so often someone would ask me if i was from new orleans. well... it still happens today. when i go to my meetings or when introduced to somebody i'm eventually asked this. wtf? of course this never happened before katrina, but it's almost expected when i meet someone these days. any other folks been running into this? why is it important? why do people assume this? if was from there, what's the point? also, before anyone else says it... ... black? yes.
It's not only because you're black, it's because you're black and you had no driver's license. It might also be cause the type of car you were driving.
im not black but i think if you are black and you drive a BMW or Mercedes-Benz they will stop you everytime.
they stopped Maxwell for that. they found one gram of chronic! jealous hating police back in the day!
Did you start the conversation off by saying -- "The last time I saw this many cops I was stranded at the Superdome."
If it makes you feel better I assume all cops failed at life and had to settle. Sorry to any cops reading, please don't try to give me a ticket. I will just own you in court anyways
