So, this week, I have two days off: Monday and Today, Wednesday. Monday was my anniversary with my girlfriend. Anyways, I get home from school on Monday, and I have a call from work, asking me to come in. So, I called them back, told the what day it was, and they were okay with it. Now, on my other day off, they just called me AGAIN, asking me if I would come in tonight. Granted, I am on Spring Break, but I want to have a life other than work. I'm not about to go into work every day that I have off because some stupid lady (see, "Who is that person you hate at work" thread) wants to call in every time she works. So, today, I didn't answer my phone, and I'm just gonna call them back at like 5:30 and tell them I was at the YMCA working out and playing basketball. They better have someone to fill in, because I'm not coming in still, then. Even so, I'll just tell them that I can't make it in till 6:30 or so, which would be pointless because we close at 8 and are out by 9. Also, that stupid lady I referred to earlier just gets on everyone's nerves. She thinks she's so high and mighty, and all she is is trailor trash. Nobody likes her. On Friday, I'm ratting her out, because she yelled at me all weekend in front of customers, and consistantly treats me like a 5 year old. She actually YELLED at me in front of a customer for tying the know too high on a bag that I put sides (veggies) in. Now, I like this job a lot, and I love the people I work with, (aside from the lady and the fact that they call me in all the time) but I just hate being treated like a two year old by someone who is not my superior, and I hate spending every night of the week working. Sorry, I just had to rant.
when I was a waiter this is the only way I would have a day off. I was almost guaranteed to get a call every day off because they were short handed.
If Clerks has taught me anything, it's screening my phone calls to avoid having to go to work. But seriously, don't ever let yourself get guilt-tripped in to going in. It's not your responsibility. They should fire that lady and hire someone who can come in when they are scheduled.
man, i can't stand co-workers like you Eddie. you're not a team player. if i have teh courtesy to call in just because i'd rather watch a basketball game, you should at least have the courtesy to come in for me. geez, it's people like you who screw things up for the rest of us.
We feel your pain, Eddie. We know you will find a way to get her back. I just want to wish you good luck. We're all counting on you! Next time...tie the knot a little lower. Okay? Okay?
When I was a waiter in college, the bar would have 10 cent drinks on wednesday nights. So you'd be hustling you arse off, tables wouldn't turnover..deliver about 1000 drinks for $15 in tips.
My sister's and her husband's first date was an astro's game. Every year they go to the game on the same date, no matter what city. Unfortunately, they have all been either in houston or dallas.
