What a dumbass comment Question -- do you have kids? My guess is no if you're suggesting stuff like that.
Yep, my first job was cart boy at HEB. Now I will walk as far as I needed to put my cart in a corral. I usually grab one or two on the way. The worst was when customers would fling carts at you when you weren't looking and they would just hit you or a car if you didn't see them in time. I do not miss that job.
I wouldn't want to leave my kids in a locked car even for a few seconds. What if the key malfunctioned and I couldn't open it or if got hit by a car returning or... But he could have politely asked somebody to take the cart for him. At a place like Lowes, there are always people walking by. Regardless, I think his karma is intact.
People are just too lazy, it's a shame. Somehow at HEB a while ago, one of the cart gatherers left a stack on 30+ carts right behind my car completely blocking me and 2 other carts. I saw it like that recently again blocking other cars. I don't know how the damn cart gathers can possibly think its acceptable to do that.
I used to work at office depot and had to round up carts at times. It is a pain and with that in mind about 90% of the time I take the cart right back into the store, 10% of the time I take it to the nearest corral. I NEVER leave it floating around in the parking lot. People are lazy. It sucks.
There's a middle aged cart gatherer who works at the HEB on Barker Cypress/290 who got upset at me for wearing an Andre Johnson shirt. Pretty sure it was that one guy from the Texans forum here.
Uh, no. If a cage is more than 3 feet away, it's going to take a lot longer than a few seconds to push it over there and walk back to my car. That's a lot longer than I'm comfortable leaving my kids in a car even if it's locked. LOL.
It must be crippling to live in fear that much. You aren't going to win the lottery, and no one's going to steal your kids from a Lowe's parking lot.
Was just about to post something similar. If I have my kid with me and the cart cage isn't close, then I'm leaving the cart where it is after angling it as best I can so that it doesn't roll. What happened to OP's car sucks... But them's the breaks.
How old are your kids? I've got a toddler and he loves returning the cart with me. I just don't get this mentality. If your kids aren't mobile, get a stroller or a baby bjorn. Please don't take offense, but I bet you can't park in your garage either.
This thread is ... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sFs8G0yOtfc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> ... and with my 2nd Molly Hatchet drop in one thread, I'm out.
When I worked in Huntsville Walmart we had police show up to check our security cameras because of a murder a few miles away. Turns out the girl that was murdered was in our store and as she was leaving a guy walks in, steals a Paula Deen knife and stabs the girl later on. The store also has had a assistant manager kidnapped in the parking lot as she was walking to her car when got off her shift. That happened a long time ago. Edit: We would also have people, most of them not from the area and just going from town to town and would walk up and down the parking lot just looking at every car for whatever they wanted. If they saw it they would take it.
All of these loose carts are making way too many unwanted baby carts, and those baby carts are the real b*stard of the problem because they don't give a **** and just go everywhere.
How is it crippling? I'd rather be labeled as 'someone who lives in crippling fear' than have my car stolen with my kids inside because I decide to put my stupid cart in a cart corral.
Driving to and from the store is far more likely to result in harm to you and your kids than leaving them in the car for a moment.
How is your car going to be stolen if your vehicle is closed, locked, and you have the keys in your pocket?
