Exactly. Certainly it is true that mothers have a much easier time getting custody in Texas, but the incompetence that populates the Attorney General's office effects the good moms as equally as the good dads. I have had several friends whose ex-husband had not payed ANY child support and were something like $50,000 past due and the AG somehow had found no way to hold them accountable. A warrant was issued for their arrest in one case, but somehow the guy was pulled over in his car on numerous occasions and not arrested. AG had screwed the warrent up somehow. It happened several times like that. My wife is pretty recently divorced from her ex. A little over a year now. We haven't seen much CS since the divorce and things are about to start getting ugly. I dread involvement we will have to have with the AG when that time comes.

    Falcons... bro...

Above anything else... be calm and think through decisions... don't be upset when deciding stuff... and, GOOD LUCK. :(

Putting 100 rounds through my new Glock 22 put a big old smile on my face.

 I just have to wait until tomorrow to straighten things out at the AG's office. Not much more I can really do until then.

Nope. She's still my son's mother. What goes around comes around. When he's 12, and decides to come and live with me, she'll have to turn around and pay me child support. It's just a matter of time.

Always remember to channel your anger in an appropriate manner. No one wants to see you go "OJ" on her.

Thank god my parents let me keep my dual citizenship. Would come in handy if I ever inseminated a crazy female. Only an eight hr trip to Buenos Aires from Miami. International custody battles are nasty.

P.S Do you need both parents consent in the US for a child to travel abroad with a parent. In argentina you need the fathers consent and not the mothers.
Subquestion: What if a child is a dual citizen (via birth registery) of one parent's home country.

I was at the AG office at 8:00 this morning and the receptionist tried to tell me to come back tomorrow with an appointment. After I calmly and rationally told her that her office screwed up, didn't inform on their message that they would be closed Monday, and that I had already taken two days off of work, the supervisor came in and took me in her office. Turns out that the AG office has a new "system" and the district clerks office had not been sending the information to the new system. When this new system saw that, I got the letter. I dropped the pay stubs on her desk and pointed the payments out to her, I gave her the number to my payroll department, and I questioned her if my ex had declared that I was in arrears. This doesn't let the ex off the hook, because she sure as hell didn;t deny it, and then tried to convince me that it was retro pay.

Bottom line, I'm waiting on a callback to verify that it was all straightened out.

At least I have time to go back to the range for some more target practice...oh, and for the record, my ex is still a psycho b****.

How is that fair to me or the other Dad's that are doing the right thing? I suffer for their worthlessness? I am not looking for a medal, just fair treatment. Punish the bad Dad's, not blanket punishment for all Dad's, good and bad.

Only the lowest piece of **** on the face of the planet would run off with someone's child. Either you do not have kids or are truly a vindictive *******.

It's not, but your anger should be pointed more at them and your ex rather than the state, IMO.

Why not the state. They are in their position to make fair and just ruling on an individual basis.

But my anger is directed and them as well for being pathetic deadbeats.

I just got the call back. For the most part, everything is straightened out, but she said some months were skipped with double payment coming the next month, and she was claiming I owed interest on those arreages.

 ...every month my payment is directly withdrawn and paid to the count clerk office. If they didn;t submit the paperwork to AG's office, that's going to have to be on them.

Glad to see my tax dollars at work.

Man, I'm so glad I don't have to deal with this. Everyone I know that is involved in child support seems to have crazy problems like this. Good luck FT.

Sorry about that FT - glad it got semi-straightened out.
