I'm sure those girls wearing the flops didn't care too much for a family observing them form the back porch either. Maybe there lil pet peeve.

    Slippers is life for me.

I used to wear flip flops more often, like outside the house. It would annoy the hell out of my dad, saying that if I were to try to run from someone or something that I wasnt going to be able to because of the damn flip flops or might give me trouble when driving, could get stuck in the peddle. I would just laugh it off but it is kinda true. Anyways, now Ive realized that I cant wear them anymore. Its always just around the house, but never to stores, etc... I think its homoish, especially with jeans.

i used to never wear flip flops when i was younger cause they weren't comfortable to me. i think i started wearing them when they started making them look cuter. i love open toe shoes but sometimes it gets a tad too cold for my feet. i hate sneakers...i feel like a dude when i wear them LOL but that doesn't mean i care when other chicks wear them. i could care less what anyone else wears. as long as someone treats me respect, i dnt have a problem with them. i particularly dnt like when a guy wears flip flops either, but hey, if he's comfortable, who am i to tell him otherwise.

bottom line, i dnt care what u wear LOL. its your body, your clothes, you pay for them so i can't be bothered by it. :)

In a non sports-playing situation, wearing any type of shoe with shorts other than sandals/flip flops looks dorky. I might consider an exception for Vans.

The only thing I hate about flip flops is when someone is sitting in a room near your and their feet smell.

I love wearing flipflops, especially when in shorts.

Shoes don't feel right with shorts, unless i'm dressed athletic.

Good point. Wearing sneakers while not playing sports is the same as wearing flip-flops while not on the beach.

well, it's bound to piss someone off when you take into account the number of threads about how someone else's dress code annoys people. ;)

ive just learned to ignore ppl's fashion. its hard not to but i have to. my biggest pet peeve before was girls who never fixed themselves up LOL. It bothered me to the extreme!! But I've just learned that everyone is different in how they speak, think and dress. Who are we to tell them to change. As long as they're good people and are nice to me, I could care less. Trust me, I have a few friends who's wardrobe is completely questionable from my point of view haha but damn, those people would do anything for me as I would do the same for them :)

I am always amazed at how many ridiculous "rules of living" that some of us have to take into account.

It must make for many a sleepless night.

You might as well as posted "I know you are, but what am I?" Believe me, those girls sitting in front of me had NO clue and add on to the fact that they were parading their feet and hideous footwear for the whole world to see (well just their pew and the one behind it which was mine) makes me say that they had no clue about my disgust.

I'll say it, I wear a pair of adidas flip flops all the time. We have no dress code at work so I just wear them every day basically.

it's bad but I'm so lazy and its so quick. I'll wear them in cold weather too sometimes, I'm not really bothered by the weather. Now I'd never wear them to church or something like that, but I definitely wear them liberally.

Naaah. I'm not a teva guy. Too much work with all those straps. As I said earlier in the thread, this is my sandal of choice-

Flip flops can actually be dangerous. Case in point:

One time, I blew out my flip-flop and stepped on a pop-top. I cut my heel and had to cruise on back home. Lucky for me, there was booze in the blender and it soon rendered that frozen concoction that helped me hang on.

    True story.

Evidently we've got a lot of Jack Bauer's here who frequently get into situations where they have to spontaneously run.

I haven't seen any girls wear flip flops if they had corns and bunions. It'd be really embarassing. I have seen some girls with slightly cracked heels or scratches on their feet. It's kind of a turn-on for me. I don't know, I've just got some weird fetishes like feet, hands, toes, noses (especially pointed), earlobes, freckles.
