Unlike other posters who are afraid to post a poll on purpose (obviously to push an agenda or not see the embarrassing results)

    Let's rank the Rockets Leaders!

When was Barkley ever a leader?

Loudest sure, but he was never the man here.

LOL, keep fighting the good fight. Rather read your threads than watch Rocket games at this point. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, probably bad.

And Josh Smith was instrumental in us beating the Clippers last year. It doesn't mean he was our leader of that team (tho looking at this season, maybe he was lol ). Hakeem was great in the WCF run.

Obviously you didn't watch that series.

Josh Smith was a role player last year.

Barkley was our main acquistion. Nice try though.

    Smith - 10 points / game , 20 minutes/game

    Barkley - 19 points / game 39 minutes/ game

Yao was preoccupied with being injured. I am a fan but he was mostly injured during the playoffs other than mostly 1st rounds.

god you're dumb. no one said josh smith was as good as barkley. that'd be a moronic statement. you said he was the LEADER of that team that made it to the WCF by saying "he was instrumental in beating the sonics." if you take that same statement....couldn't you also say josh smith was instrumental in beating the clippers? the point is...it doesn't mean he LED us in that series, same way with barkley. we're not even comparing their individual impact to each run. BARKLEY WAS OBVIOUSLY BETTER. please understand the point i'm trying to make instead of spinning the argument and being inconsistent with your logic again.

by the own stats you posted, hakeem was 23/10 in that post season on 61 ts%. barkley only had a 52% ts in that sonics series. how was barkley that clear cut a leader in the same vein as a hakeem during our chip years, or even harden last year?

You compared a bench player to a starter.

Barkley was the leader of the Rockets that year, he's the one who doesn't have the ring and played his butt off the regular season and playoffs.

we got swept by seattle the year before.
Seattle in the 90s were the Rockets biggest rivals. they were our golden state.

You don't have to pretend you saw that series to defend mcGrady.

He doesn't qualify for this list of leaders.

no i didn't compare the two players at all (and besides, josh smith started for us in game 5, game 6 and game 7 of that series we came back from 1-3 down to win). i compared the idea that both had integral roles in making their team advance, barkley being a bigger one obviously because he's a much better player. my point was it doesn't mean barkley or smith were the leaders of the team.

im more than aware of the troubles we had with the sonics, and kemp in particular. i'm also aware we acquired barkley as our off season acquisition and figured your argument would be that because we acquired barkley and then got past the sonics, he then "led" us...but i don't think it's so clear cut and dry moreso that barkley was the piece that took us over the hump. my question is...hakeem did 22/12 in that series on 61 ts%. barkley did 19/13 on 52% ts (drexler also did a not too shabby 20/7/5 on 55% ts in the series), while hakeem was also the anchor for our defense in that series. looking at that objectively, why wasn't hakeem the leader for that team? he's also the dude that you know...led the rockets to 2 championships just seasons before and the obvious face of the franchise/leader.

im not even diminishing barkley's tremendous impact in that series. im just questioning why it's such a clear cut idea that barkley is a leader in the same breath that harden was for us last year or hakeem/moses were in the peak of their careers. it just seems like he's the odd man out in that comparison looking at what they did for our teams.

and lol, typical tinman...when the argument gets tough, insult the other person as a TOF or LOF. where in this post did i bring up mcgrady? dude you have some serious mental problems. i sincerely hope this is just your message board persona b/c this isn't healthy. i'll be the first one to tell you in general tmac wasn't a leader. no way, no how. even with his 29/13 game in game 7, all i remember was tmac settling for jumpers down the stretch in that game 7, when he couldn't hit a jumpshot to save his life the entire series and was having success in that game by attacking the rim. i know the stats aren't everything. trust me. and i'm definitely not a mcgrady apologist. i just try to post as i see them, good or bad, sometimes that's in favor of tmac for certain things, and other times it's not.

this is obviously a foreign concept to you where its all or nothing.

Why is harden on this list?

Not a fan of Dwight but he's showed more passion and heart in the playoffs than Harden
