    Fixed.

I really would like to see what Harrington could do in this offense. With his size, range, and athleticism. This team would be that much scarier, dontcha think? ;)

I would kill myself if the Rockets did this.

First off...T-mac for Heinrich and Jeffries? No thank you. Somebody has to want T-Mac's expiring contract more than that. The Draft pick is lame, because in a few years with 2 max player (Lebron and whoever) NY is bound to be at least a playoff team, and so the pick would not be that great (Despite Morey's penchant for getting under recognized talent). I admit the money is good for Les, but I think the he would take a big PR hit.

Second, Jeffries is overpaid garbage, we can all agree on that. Heinrich while intriguing, I think is clearly on the decline, and we already have two younger better point guards.

Third, if this trade helped NY land Lebron, I think I would have to stop watching all sports (and, therefore, kill myself). NY fans are obnoxious enough, to begin with (yes worse than LA or Boston or Dallas), who think they are entitled to everything and think the world revolves around New York City. Lebron is already overexposed as is and he plays in Cleveland (not that he is not an awesome player). If he played in NY, ESPN would have to change their name the the Lebron channel (maybe throw in some Yanks and Sox), everything else would be relegated to ESPN 9 or something.

The thought of it all just causes me to lose my lunch.

Bima I like the trade but I would hope for one more big man not named Eddie Curry lol.

I really want to focus on GS with all there malcontents...

    TMAC and Lowry
    for
    SJAX, Ellis and Randolph

It seems all Houston and no GS but it gets rid of 3 headaches for them and allows them to have tons of cap room. We would be stuck with these guys for a while but all really talented and IMO Ellis along with Randolph have only begun to tip the scale of there potential.

I would think a long shot but hey why not dream. :D

    Bima-

While I like Hinrich a lot and even though he's a hard nosed defender and did an admirable job on Paul Pierce in last year's playoffs there's still no getting around the fact that he's only 6'3. If we didn't have Lowry or if Lowry were struggling I'd be inclined to pull the trigger on such a deal but neither are true. The emergence of Lowry almost makes Hinrich an afterthought. Furthermore, a glut of 6'3 and under backcourt doesn't sound too appealing when we're already undersized in our frontcourt.

If the Kevin Martin rumor is true I've been very adamantly in favor of such a deal like that.

    or

I'd just let Mcgrady's contract expire without the expense of ruining our chemistry and or dealing with the headaches of other contracts.

I think that they might consider giving us Randolph If we took Cmag and Jackson off their hands...They might want Boodinger too...

Would we want to do that?

    Aaron Brooks/Kyle Lowry
    Shane Battier/Stephen Jackson
    Trevor Ariza/Corey Maggette
    Luis Scola/Carl Landry
    Anthony Randolph/Chuck Hayes

    Most importantly.
Aaron Brooks, Trevor Ariza and Anthony Randolph could very well be a future young core to a champioship team imo.

I would personally drive TMac and Lowry to the airport if that deal went down. It is inconceivable that even an organization as screwed up as the Warriors would do that deal, though.

    I couldn't disagree more . . . at least on the overrated part. ;)

I think Hinrich got overpaid, then the Bulls happened to get a fortuitous bounce of the ping pong balls and got the #1 overall pick in a draft where the clear best player was a PG. Hinrich now plays primarily out of position and is used more for his defense than for his offense.

I view Kirk Hinrich in much the same way as Morey views Shane Battier, Trevor Ariza and Chuck Hayes: as players whose are "undervalued" around the league, since their defensive contributions are not viewed as highly as other players' ability to "get stats". This concept of "undervaluing" players extends beyond mere salary. It goes to perception of value.

For instance, you could have "Player A" making $4M and being a guy who puts up pretty good stats. Then, you could have "Player B" making $5M and not putting up stats as good as Player A's. Many teams might view Player B as a lesser player than Player A, but Player B's ability to defend, get extra possessions, etc., make him valuable to someone like Daryl Morey. Even though Player B makes more money and puts up worse stats, he could be "undervalued" by most teams, including Player B's own team. THIS is the type of player that Morey looks for in trades, aside from his attempts (like everyone else) to pry away a superstar if available.

I think Kirk Hinrich is a "Player B".

I'm telling you guys you do not want Randolph on this team. He is Eddie Griffin mixed with Stephen Jackson. The guy is not right in the head and looks like he is about to crumble mentally at any point.

If you get the chance to watch a GS game in person (and Randolph gets minutes) just watch him on the court. He takes every possession, instruction from coaches, referee calls etc. personally. I don't mean personally in a good way either. He looks like he wants to lay somebody out with a sucker punch but he's too busy fighting back the tears to do it.

I have seen him up close twice since he has been in the NBA and I can't tell if he is about to burst into tears when he is playing or if he has knife in his sock and wants to start slicing everyone within arms reach.

    Uh . . . thanks?

But what part of "I AM ASSUMING THAT DARYL MOREY IS NOT GOING TO USE THE CAP SPACE AND WILL INSTEAD OPT TO KEEP THIS TEAM TOGETHER" do people not understand?

Again, I even begged people at the end of the OP to view this trade in a particular vacuum. Of course, if the assumptions are different, this trade might not make sense. But I set certain parameters before setting forth the trade. So far, only 3 or 4 responses have actually commented (for good or for bad) based on those parameters.

Hinrich would have been perfect for the Rockets teams of 2007-2009. Not anymore. He's on the decline now, and he STILL wouldn't give us what we need offensively at this point--the ability to create his own shot.

well, if everyone sees you have game, and yet your own damn coach refuses to play you for so long, how would you feel? he's human.

when he gets minutes, he has performed. he knows it. everybody sees it, except for don nelson.

every year people claim he's ready to explode and yet he doesn' get minutes.

for randolph's lack of playing time alone, do you know how many warrior fans want to punch don nelson in the face personally if they could?

    Finally a realistic trade scenario.

While underwhelming on the surface, I agree that Hinrich is a great fit in the Rockets system (although his shot has seemingly gone Rafer Alston lately) and he's a lot more valuable to the Bulls organization than people think.

Jeffries is nothing but a better than average defender with a severely limited offensive game.

We'd be basically flushing our toilet and getting back a good player, a future stud rookie, along with saving some coin.

    Whats not to like?

A healthy Jazz squad next season re-sign Boozer and add the Knick's 2010 first round pick. I'm not liking that scenario.

The Rockets can help themselves tomorrow, by helping the Knicks today.

The fact you needed to type out so much justification for why Houston does this trade speaks volumes about how unimpressive this trade is.

If some new member without reps proposed this trade you know everyone would be on his jockstrap.

I rather trade T-mac for Kevin Martin who has a lot more impact on a game-to-game basis than Hinrich or Jefferies ever will.

Dont see the love for Hinrich at all, he's a career 41% shooter and has not averaged more than 11.5 pts in 3 + years....And he makes 8+ mil for the next couple years...I doubt this is the type of player Morey is looking for....I'd rather let TMAC expire. I understand that we wont have max money, but I'd still rather not have Hinrich's contract burdening us even further. Not while we already have 2 cheap PGs on the roster.

People realize that even with T-Mac's contract expiring, we won't be under the cap enough to sign a max player, right?
