Switch Jovic to Mitchell and throw in a couple of 2nd round picks along with KD, for the 2 unprotected 1st round picks from 28 and 29. The Rockets probably won’t need Wiggins after 1 year.

If Miami is the option, yeah, add Mitchell and Portis and give them Capela and JD. Get us some first round picks.

My view is that KD is not a net negative. I think he's worth about a late FRP. I want to keep KD in case the young Rockets (e.g., Amen) take a step forward or the Rockets make a big trade. I don't think a late FRP helps rebuilding much unless it is combined with other rebuilding moves.

You have Portland trading 2 great FRPs for him, but think he's a net negative. To me, this says you know KD is valuable, but blame him for Amen not being better. It was also FVV's fault the year before.

On wrecking the financials, the Rockets would be around or way over the 1st apron until 2031 with keeping this group together and just draft picks and minimums. If Amen, Sengun, Reed, JSJ, Tari, KD, FVV, Smart, and Adams can't win, Amen, Sengun, Reed, JSJ, Tari, and Trey with picks and minimums should be assumed they can't win.

For me, I think the Rockets are close enough that they should try without going all-in on the current team. See how things are looking to determine if they should rebuild (i.e., more than jettisoning KD) or keep trying. I don't think the future is that easy to predict, except that it is really hard to improve without money and/or picks.
