AR's and Trae's new deals are kinda making my head spin a little bit. Makes me worried what Amen's extension might look like. On the other hand, Sengun is looking like a hell of a value right now.
I think it’s clear one of these teams like the Nets were gonna max him if he got to an open FA market. Probably the easiest negotiating his agent has ever done. The Lakers had no choice.
One thing I didn't consider about the lottery rule changes is the impact it would have on high level free agents. I don't think a guy like Trae gets that contract, and I don't think there are as many suitors for Reaves, under the old system where there was far more incentive to bottom out. Now, getting decent is the new tanking.
I’d flip Jabari for him in a second. We need what Murphy brings which is elite shooting. He’s one of the best volume shooters in the league. Then if we could sign and trade Grimes for DFS’ expiring contract and then we have solved a lot of our shooting woes without losing defensive capability because they’re both plus defenders too.
Mostly agree. I think AR's is probably close to worth the 25%. Trae, I don't think he's better than AR at this point though he started as a better player. The Lakers really had no choice as you said. AR was going to get offered his max by someone, and they just are limited with how to build such that it wasn't worth trying to get a better deal.
I read somewhere that he was very high on our draft board that yr he was drafted, which should mean we have interest. Absolutely no rumors linking Houston to Murphy but I hope we are engaged and just running a tight ship.
What about this: Sengun, DFS, Capela, and two FRPs for Jaylen Brown and Queta? Celtics get a young, franchise center, a decent backup, a fairly large expiring, and some draft compensation. It really gives them more flexibility going forward. We get a 1a scorer and a young, traditional rim protector. I get that "you can't have two non-shooters" argument, but I think Amen and a traditional rim protector could work. Amen / Brown / Durant / Smith / Queta FVV / Sheppard / Eason / Adams
I would do this. I doubt the Celtics would. I love SCHN app. That said, my watching other teams has been a lot less since cutting Fubo for it. When I do watch the Celtics, Queta along with Brown and White seemed to make a lot of the Pritchard lineups work. With Tatum, Brown might be a luxury. That said, Pitchard and Sengun lineups likely have the issues of Reed and Sengun lineups. I can't see the Celtics going away from a rim-protecting center right now. Maybe, this is small sample size of viewing.
Steven Adams + DFS for Myles Turner Milwaukee gets out of half Turner's contract next summer and the other half the following, which would be a year early. Turner would provide rim protection and floor spacing, two needs for the Rockets.
Add in Clint, re-route Adams to a 3rd teams MLE/TPE/expirings for a handful of 2nds to the Buck The problem is his contract is tough to host, are we moving out from KD for Sengun for expirings? Are we letting Fred walk? Not re-signing Tari? Something would have to give.
Rockets getting Kawhi and Lopez Sengun/Sheppard/Capela and 3 first Rounders for an extended Kawhi, Brook Lopez and Dunn. Sign Jock Landale for depth. FVV/Dunn Amen/FA Signing KD/Eason Kawhi/Landale Jabari/Adams
