That's a REALLY REALLY REALLY weak offer, if they do trade giannis it will not be for that.

Not sure about that. Not too many teams have both the assets and can make the money work. Maybe a third pick would be necessary. I’m not saying I want Giannis, but if he forces a trade I don’t think the price is going to be as high as some people think.

Midseason that's true, but in the offseason any team can make the money work pretty much. I think with how crazy restrictive the new CBA is we'll start to see the big trades happen more in the offseason vs the deadline. Also, every superstar trade ends up being for everything (except luka but that wasn't a normal trade). Harden, durant, etc.

Your offer is weaker than the Bane trade. At this point, our only valuable 1st is the nets swap. The suns picks have plummeted, the mavs pick got destroyed with Flagg so our assets have really shrunk up compared to a year ago today.

Ya he avg big numbers on terrible team being the #1 option there, but still if he goes to a team where he back to the 3rd or 4th option, paying him
    38.3M in 2025-26, $40.8M in 2026-27 for Him lol

    Cant afford him.

A healthy MPJ is probably what we hope Jabari will become. The early part of his career he was injured a lot. His work ethic and BBIQ has been questioned in the past. He would be a gamble for the Rockets with his 40m contract next year, but would definitely be an upgrade for Jabari offensively this year. Still only 27. Don’t think we could get it done anyway. FVV would never approve a trade to the Nets. Jabari is 22 and signed to a reasonable contract for 5 more years. It would be an extreme win now move.

He’s also an ATROCIOUS defender and massively overpaid.

Markannen can't play defense to save his life. He can shoot the ball well though. The Rockets lack a starting caliber PG and a reliable 2 way SG.

this further reenforces to me that the Nets 2027 pick has a real chance to be a top pick, despite supposedly being a weak draft. They are tearing it all down to the studs. I can’t see them being competitive by early 2027. Obviously a lot can happen between now and then, but i like the fire sale.

Jabri is who he is... I don't ever see him getting better than the BEST version of himself that we have ever seen on the court.

While he his a good rebounder, which offensive skills blow. DISGUSTING.

Having said that, I would trade him and picks for Trey Murphy III in a millisecond. Wishful thinking.

I'll play devil's advocate. If Trey is so good, why doesn't he raise the Pel's floor. Stone can use this when bargaining the price down. :p

Age 25, on a solid contract. Lot of teams want him. He won't come cheap.

What if they ask one of Amen and some bench matching salary, but no picks. When athletism leaves a guy (Simmons, Ja...etc) and no skill ball to fall on, their best years are before age 26.

We get a worse defender, but better spacing and shooting.

    *runs :p

Trey Murphy would come here and start bricking

hardly any shooters live up to their billing when they become Rockets, and this has been going on for decades

I am sure they would take Tari if we include decent picks. Amen would be off limits i'm assuming. Would we be willing to give up Reed if they ask? Jabari has a poison pill.

For the record I do think Amen is a net positive for the Rockets. He's also not a head case like a Ben Simmons.

My lingering concern is his extension. If it ends up being in the mid/upper $30m range, I'm good with it. But if the number ends up being in the 45m range and that jumper never come, in the new Apron world, it doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy.

People talk up Amen's ceiling, but if no jumper and he takes up much of the cap, then it is a lid on the team's overall ceiling.

It's a thought, but their asking price in draft picks is crazy for a guy who is at best a #2 option, and probably more like a #3 option on a contender. Two picks... maybe.

Smith/Eason/2 FRP that are both top six protected for Murphy and Alvarado.

    Sengun/Adams/Capela
    KD
    Trey/DFS
    Amen/Okogie
    Alvarado/Reed
