If the Suns go down, then Booker might become available with the picks that the Rockets have from them.

You really think it would only take FVV, Whitmore, and one pick to land Herro and Rozier? Herro is having a pretty fantastic year. 24 pg on .42 from 3, .62 TS%. His production is exactly what we need at the moment.

if it takes more than that, we should pass. Herro plays no defense. On this team, he would be what for the most part he has been for the Heat, instant offense off the bench. Rozier is not an upgrade for FVV, unless FVV stays this bad from 3 for the rest of the year. It is possible, but not probable. I like the idea, just not the cost you are proposing. I'm of the mind, that Amen needs to be the starting PG sooner rather than later and FVV is in the way, not that he is a bad player that needs to be jettisoned. I've tried to be patient with Jalen, but I think he needs to go to the bench until he gets it figured out. If they can't get Herro for cheap, maybe Jalen plays the role of instant offense off the bench.

Y'all think Fox is available if SAC don't get it together? He hasn't signed extension and will be a FA 2026

I'd love Fox. I'd give up a lot for him. A lot. A Fox / Eason / Amen / Sengun core would be fantastic.

    Fox won't be going anywhere.

The best player you're getting from SAC without offering a bona fide star in return is probably Kevin Huerter. And he's been on a steady decline since last year, so not much to get excited about.

    Trade for Zach LaVine.
    HOU in: LaVine
    CHI in: Adams+Hardaway Jr.
    DET in: Jalen Green

    Trade for John Collins.
    HOU in: Collins
    UTA in: Jabari+Tate

You’ll also have to sprinkle some picks in there to get it done.

In a vacuum, I don’t really like either of the trades, but looking at team needs, I think replacing Jabari in the lineup with Collins, and swapping Green for LaVine, this team could really hum the way it’s supposed to.

Yes, I mentioned this earlier in the thread. The Kings disappointed last year and if this year yields similar results he may reconsider and request out. I don’t think he is the type that would do that publicly though but behind the scenes though it would probably get leaked anyway.

What makes you so sure they wouldn’t deal him? They definitely wouldn’t want to lose him for nothing and he would get them back a nice haul. Maybe not this year but this summer is definitely a possibility unless an extension is signed before then.

You don't do any research do you? No way that works unless you are talking next July. Jabari will be far better than Collins in the long run. Making rash decisions after 18 games is just plan stupid. Jabari is only 21 years old and will continue to improve. We are not a contender this year. We need to be planning for being perennial contenders starting next year, not blowing our chances for a small chance at making the playoffs this year. I'd swear I was talking to high schoolers if not for the joining dates. I'll give the Dude a break, because of his altered state.

    Well, never say never, but...

From the team's perspective there is no question that they want him back. He's the closest thing they've had to a superstar in ages and in theory he's only just entering his prime. So the question is really only whether Fox wants to stick around or not...and as disappointing as the Kings have started the season, I think things would have to get much, much worse for him to consider leaving.

I mean, they have Sabonis in his prime, they just had their biggest FA signing in franchise history in DeRozan (who has been very good), and they re-signed Fox's close friend and Kentucky teammate in Malik Monk. It's a squad with great off court chemistry and no troublesome personalities in a city that absolutely adores their team and would anoint you as a god for winning anything. And it's worth mentioning that Fox and his wife have had two children since Feb of last year and would probably prefer not to uproot their lives unless absolutely necessary.

Maybe I'm wrong, but having followed the Kings as closely as or even more closely than the Rockets these past few seasons, that's the vibe I get. It would have to be a genuine train wreck over there for Fox to leave, in my opinion.

I can't believe we have people on this board that would entertain this. I wouldn't trade whitmore or Bari for Herro. We dont need another good but not great player. If the trade doesn't bring us back an under 30 year old star than there is no point in the trade. Tyler Herro doesn't make us a championship contender. Not even close....

This is a much better trade target than Herro.

Trade targets for me…. Not immediately, but that the situation may allow us to pursue them and is somewhat realistic.

    1. Fox, Houstonian.
    2. Booker
    3. Myles Turner
    4. Tyrese Maxey…. I think that Philadelphia would keep him and scrap everything else before abandoning Embiid and George but you never know.
    5. After that, I don’t see a whole lot else Out there and I think that you need to begin to just hope that green or Whitmore emerge into what we need.
    6. I’m almost tempted to add Durant to the list because I believe that we are one player away from really evolving into having a three-year window to possibly win a title and that Durant should remain a pretty impactful player over that time.

I’m not basing it on 18 games. We are in years 3 and 4, and I’m pretty sick of watching it. We are trying to win games. LaVine and Collins are currently producing exactly what I want out of Green and Jabari. It’s time to stop wasting everyone’s time.

Far better than Collins in the long run, eh?

I wish I shared your optimism, Mr. “we don’t need a PF” Guy. Because as it stands, there’s absolutely nothing that Bari does better than Collins right now.

I think he'd be the ideal somewhat-plausible trade target, but probably more of an offseason acquisition due to the way Jalen's contract is structured. (I doubt the Kings give up at the deadline anyway unless their record is abysmal at that point.)

The LaMelo situation should be looked at, he was benched the final 4 mins in what ends up being a 1 point loss, then he scores 35, 50, and 44 points the following games. He seems like he is completely over being in Charlotte in press conferences, he could be injury prone, but worth going after.
