It's technically possible salary-wise by swapping FVV with Young in my earlier proposed trade. I have no idea what additional assets you can include to make Atlanta even sniff at it though. It would take the Bucks or Hawks pulling a Nico Harrison. It would also be really dumb from the Rockets perspective, because you have no more cap room to re-sign Jabari or Amen.
You are correct on the 2025 pick, we'd need to draft someone, but that just means the deal becomes a draft-day deal... the most likely scenario in any trade with Giannis. The thing I was questioning is because we do not have our 2026, I don't think we can trade both our 27 pick and swap.
Talk is that Austin Reaves is gone this offseason. Would you trade Dillon Brooks for him straight up? That seems like a deal the Lakers might be interested in if LeBron can stomach playing with him.
Any Giannis trade has to include either Sengun or Amen. For basketball purposes. Unfortunately the 3 of them won't work in an NBA offensive scheme. For what it's worth, I think Alpy would be very interesting to NOP
Not if he is looking for a big pay day. He has a 15% trade kicker and will probably decline is player option making him an UFA in 2026. We'd have his bird rights but he will probably want more than he is worth and some team might give it to him. If we could trade for him with some expected extension in mind that works for both then it's an interesting player for our team for sure...

Why do they think he’s gone? Because he’s the most valuable piece they have that could net a better player? If that’s the case, I don’t think Dillon would be their target. I think both teams would prefer that Jalen were involved. And I’d do that in a heartbeat.
Eh just looked back at the report I saw and it was just Bill Simmons saying he will definitely be traded So probably just speculation--though it does seem possible. It does seem like the Lakers will want a center I guess. How about some variation on Jalen to Utah -> Walker Kessler (extension eligible this offseason) to LAL -> Reaves to Houston? Other players would have to be involved to match salaries, of course.
@Hive5 and @xaos I applaud your creativity on the Giannis trades! I just have a hard time investing all of our future draft capital in one superstar. He probably has a good 3-5 years left, but would the team we have around him be good enough for us to contend during that stretch? That's the question I'm struggling with.
Would need a subsequent move for a shooter, or a three-team trade that gets us one as above. I do like the idea of acquiring both Trae Young and Giannis but it would be a radically different roster. Just not sure if Stone is ready to essentially blow up everything he's built to build around two established players instead.
I know how to get our #1 guy now. Jalen Green to the Lakers for Aj Dybantsa. Pels got Zion, Mavs got Cooper, we can get AJ.
No, not trading Brooks. He was arguably the 2nd or 3rd best player on the roster this past season. I'd give them Jalen Green and take back Reaves and one of Kleber or Vincent. (they both expire after next season).
Why can’t we just work a deal with Washington to grab a Kon or Tre? Washington badly needs star potential; maybe they give up #6 for Jalen?
Would the #10 plus NGs (Landale + Williams) get Coby White from the Bulls? Bulls apparently like Giddey as the building block and are willing to let go of White. Just trying to think of ideas to replace Jalen if he's shipped out and we need a guard who has creation/closing potential.
We can pick for the Bucks, trade one of the 27 picks(swap), Trade 29 Dallas pick and 31 pick. I personally think Sengun and those picks is an overpay if Giannis prefers the Rockets.
unfortunately I don’t even think #9 and Cam get you #6. But I’d do that for sure. I’d also do #9 and Jalen for Washington’s 2026 pick, but they’d have to really like Jalen and whoever’s there at #9 to do that deal. These are the kind of phone calls I hope the front office is making.
