Have the Rox gone fishin’? I saw somewhere they are scheduled for tomorrow nite? I guess you really can’t trust the internet..l
I mean I wouldn't hate the move, I'm just not sure if he actually moves the needle for us. I could easily see Jalen being as good as Bane next season, if he takes another small step forward with his jump shooting. Bane kinda is who he is at this point--he's sort of the textbook "good starter / #3 option on a contender". If Jalen can be that good, I think he's worth keeping around. I keep flip-flopping on whether I think he's actually that good though. As far as @Houston77's idea of adding Bane and keeping Jalen around, that's an interesting thought. I think it would depend on what the plan is at point guard, because neither JG nor Bane can really play that role. I think I might like it more if Jalen came off the bench as a 6th man than if we started both Bane and JG, but I wonder if he would be willing to accept a reduction in role. Salary-matching also becomes a possible issue with this trade. Does Memphis want an expiring FVV on max salary?
I actually don't think you need a true PG if the lineup includes Green, Bane, Sengun, and Amen. Pretty of ball movement there. The other option is packaging Brooks and one or two of our prospects and draft capital for Bane. For example, Brooks and Sheppard for Bane works from a money standpoint. Then, extend FVV at a more reasonable figure. FVV / Green / Bane / Amen / Sengun
Better be a three-team trade then because I'm pretty sure they have zero interest in welcoming Dillon back
Bane would be interesting. I think Amen is showing more guard skills all the time. For guards, I've been wanting someone with on-ball juice that can work with Amen as Amen grows more into a playmaker. If you go with Bane, I think it would need to be an Amen-Bane backcourt.
Bane is a great player. 3's, Defense, FT%. The only concern is his health. I don't know his injury history but he appears to miss a lot of games.
Excuse me, but I'm genuinely curious. Have any of your trade recommendations ever been accurate? I ask because you've been sharing your trade ideas since 2004. No offense intended.
ball movement with green pshhhhhhh it has taken 4 years just to get him to get rid of it when he is doubled have no confidence in him knew there was a problem when he was posting video of simulated s-x with jc while his on court game sucked have not had any confidence in him since his sophomore season he needs to be traded but i am rooting for him to put up two more 40s and carry us past the warriors so he possibly increases his trade value but realistically i'd give him away to the nets for nothing in order to have cap space to give some of his money to ty jerome
That’s Udoker’s music! Celtics Expected To Make Changes To Roster In Offseason Due To Sustainability Concerns "I can tell you the rest of the league is bracing for some level of change to come to the Celtics from their roster this offseason," said Shams Charania on The Pat McAfee Show. "And you know sources have been telling me for weeks now that the Celtics will be exploring trade options in the offseason. This iteration just is not going to be sustainable for this team and no one around the organization from players to staffers would be surprised if there are changes coming to this roster. Because when you think about the new collective bargaining agreement, there's restrictions that come with trades. There's restrictions that come with freezing of draft picks. That's all stuff that they're dealing with right now." The Celtics have Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on supermax contracts, while Derick White, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis are each on expensive contracts of their own. "They have five players right now scheduled to make $28 million or more next season. That's a league record. They would have a salary bill of $500 million. I think the Celtics knew when they traded for Jrue Holiday and they traded for Kristaps Porzingis, they'd be staring at this in the face this summer. "But none of these changes are the top of mind for the Celtics now. This is obviously the most talented team in the league. I think a lot of people would agree with that. So these are good problems to have, but the league is bracing for some level of change to come to this Celtics roster in the offseason."
LOL. I seem to remember Jalen Green scoring 38 points in one playoff game and then everyone demanding that we trade him a few days later. Let's see what Amen does tomorrow before we anoint him.
Doubt they'll trade Tatum or Brown, and still don't want Brown anyway (32.4% three point shooter this season, vastly overpaid). Derrick White I can sort of see making sense for us, but he's basically the same age as FVV--would rather go younger if we're trading for a backcourt dude. Pritchard would be a nice get, but I doubt they trade him, his contract is super cheap.
One of those guys is in his 2nd season, shooting 50% from the field in the playoffs, and playing elite defence. The other guy has a 4 year history of disappointing, no defence, 38% from the field in the playoffs, and really, is not shocking anyone that he isn't delivering
So what are they implying that the goal is, to turn some large contracts into smaller, more manageable contracts? I’d want that if I were them, too. But that’s kind of an old team. Jrue and White are already over 30. Brown and Porzingis will be this year. Tatum is the main one I’d be interested in. Jalen + Dillon or Jabari should work salary wise, plus a few picks. Sure, Boston, we’ll help you out.
