I think we should help the Mavs out with their Center crunch and get back Garfford and Dinwiddie for Landale and Holiday. Helps Dallas with their cap space and we need a replacement Big under contract next year since Aquaman is a free agent after the season. I think Dinwiddie helps with our ball handling and shooting issues and expiring
Smoke 'em if you got 'em. I would do it in a second and even throw in a second round pick. I think the Mavericks could do better though. I hear the Lakers are looking for a center.
I think you're missing the point. Help the Rockets? Sh**************y***********t. Help the Lakers? Priceless.
It’s going to be hilarious when this team continues to slide and get outed in the play in because Stone wanted to give this team “a chance”. Stone hides behind the young core and draft picks because if he makes a move, it officially starts the clock on his evaluation. Giving this team a chance cost us D.Fox who was had with fake first round picks and end of bench players. The hilarious part about giving this young core a chance is that evidently FVV is our most important and best player.
We should bring the ball brothers together. Charlotte being under the cap can actually take Jalen for Lamelo.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of LaMelo. IF we make a big trade for a final young, core piece, I want it to be form someone who plays. Say what you will about Green, but the dude shows up. I don't want to be beholden to an oft injured franchise player like the 76ers or Pelicans.
Can you blame Stone for being patient though? the team is young and the first wave of picks just got extended. There is zero need to give up assets right now. If anything we should figure out how good Fox and Wemby are together before countering that like we did when we went up against Golden State. Stone isn’t gonna rush this and I don’t blame him. The Thunder collapsed in the playoffs last year and their biggest trade was for a role player. I expect Stone to just follow what Presti does until a young superstar is available
Yeah, I completely agree. We are ahead of schedule. I was always a little troubled by people referring to us as a top 3 team when our oldest prospect is Eason at 23. I'm not saying we shouldn't make a trade if a solid one presents itself. If we can land Booker for a sensible price without giving up Sengun or Amen, go for it. I'm saying we shouldn't be desperate because of a random 4 game losing streak. Amen and Sengun will continue to improve and work better together. We're going to be really good for a long time as long as we don't panic.
Can't believe we haven't pounced on Robert Williams. Adams is not the long term solution, he's perfect for 2nd/3rd string this season and teaching Amen/Green/Sengun/Jabari about screens. Love Adams but he's a poor FT shooter and more-than-usual liability on the perimeter for a big man this season. I'm sure his lateral quickness will bounce back some next season, typical for his injury. Look how many 3's he blocks just in the 2022 playoffs: Imagine the floor with him on it during these last 6-7 games. Lob threat with Amen/Green when things are stagnant.
It takes two to Tango. I don't blame Stone for not giving up a FRP for Wiliams. If the price is right jump all over it.
Source? I had seen two second rounders or a first rounder, nothing about an unprotected pick. It's ok if they want that no one will give that, so if they need to trade him I guess it would be for a low value FRP. I'd do it for a top 20 protected.
I'm concerned that Stone hordes the picks too long, especially the Phoenix picks. Someone may bale them out and neither Booker or Durant is available to us and their picks don't carry as much value as they do now. I wouldn't panic and make a trade right now if nothing good is available, but I sure as well would be going hard in the off-season. Unless Jalen finally becomes consistent and we get a shooter or two we are not a contender as currently constructed. Amen, Sengun, and Jabari can be the core for a championship team, but not for a couple more years. Are we that patient?
I’m all for hoarding the Suns picks. They are screwed screwed. It’s going to be too 10 picks over and over. You could fill in holes to the lineup and replace players you count afford. You also have the option on if say one hits at the 6-7th pick and trade it for 2 picks. Endless options
Seriously. I thought the point of hoarding those picks was to get star players. It will be a massive failure if we turn those picks into actual drafted players. We have a bunch of drafted players on this team already and they're not even as important as FVV.
What I don't get is why you're upset with an NBA GM who simply isn't following your plan. Can you find something to cheer for if they don't do it that exact way?
It's not so much that I want him to give up the future or trade our core. I've been adamant that I rather they just add to it and use the assets to do so. If you're set on not trading the future, sure. But there are obvious holes at the backup 1, bench scoring and backup C. It would be a failure if you just allow that to continue. If you're bullish on this core, give them a proper chance then.
