I'm not sure it it is the sellers being greedy or just a weird trade environment. It seems like more than ever, teams either have a ton of picks or are brushing up against the Stepien Rule. There aren't many teams willing to pay 2 FRPs for a player as they either want to save up for a star or don't have 2 tradeable FRPs. Anyone worth more than a SRP, but less than 4 FRPs (and not bad ones like Brooklyn being offered for Bridges) is basically at a price few teams want to pay. I blame the Harden to Brooklyn trade along with the Gobert and Donovan Mitchell trades and Sam Presti being a sponge. Harden trade caused a can reaction that lead to Houston and Brooklyn rebuilding (Brooklyn is a maybe) as well as Phoenix and Dallas not having any picks. Gobert and Mitchell deals weakened Utah a little, but made TWolves and Cavs light on picks.
Sure they do. They wouldn't be trying to trade his contract for a star. He's a veteran who Ime has worked with before who can help some of the younger guys. There's no long term commitment. He walks away after a few months. It's not like he's the primary asset in such a deal. The cost is minimal. There would be no picks involved. Patrick Williams is only a year older than Green and has him beat in virtually every offensive category. Jalen has more total points, assists, and free throws. Everything else tips to Williams: fg% ts% efg% 3pt% rebounds steals blocks vorp. On defense It's not even close. Patrick Williams would be untouchable if not for injuries. Jalen is clearly not untouchable. Sorry, I'm just not playing bias fanboy here. Jalen drove his stock down over 3 seasons. Maybe you think chucking is a more sought after skill than defense and 40% 3pt shooting... I don't....
Gotta love it. A 32 year old on an expiring contract that's a role player has an asking price of an FRP. Danny is a damn genius if he suckers a team into that lol.
Still a chance to get a rotational guy on the buyout market Beyond that you just hope Green keeps his hot streak up and actually gets consistent, Tari comes back healthy, FVV isn't out too long, and Amen and Cam keep getting better every game. All that's possible, probably not probable.
If we can't flip Jalen for a shooting guard that can shoot we just run out the clock on the rest of the season and hope the Nets pick wins the lottery. The rest of the wasted season will be 100% about the development of Amen and Cam.
https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-trade-deadline-rumors-the-latest-intel-on-all-30-teams/ Following an aggressive pursuit of Nets forward Mikal Bridges, as first reported by HoopsHype, the Houston Rockets expressed interest in another Nets player, league sources told HoopsHype – Royce O’Neale. Meanwhile, Houston swingman Jae’Sean Tatehas drawn interest from several teams with the Rockets seeking either a late first-round pick or multiple second-round picks to consider parting with Tate, league sources told HoopsHype. Tate has been one of Rafael Stone’s notable finds as a diamond in the rough from the Sydney Kings who’s become a proven NBA rotation player. Rockets point guard Aaron Holiday has also drawn trade interest from teams looking for backup point guard depth, HoopsHype has learned. Holiday is shooting over 40 percent from beyond the arc for the second season in a row. Acquiring any potential draft compensation could eventually be flipped as part of a trade to acquire another rotation player. Speaking of assets to help Houston acquire another player, center Jock Landale remains available on the trade market as a useful asset thanks to his tradeable contract, as noted on our Rockets salaries page.
lol Jalen is only young..........fans just give up on young players way too easily............they must be All Stars straight away Williams is not that great and you are treating them as if they are in the same game plan and they are the same kind of player. That is where comparing players is wrong. 10-3-1 in 27mpg is fantastic
