I think we already sort of traded the 2024 BKN round 2 pick, we sort of have the 2024 GSW pick to trade (it's the middle of the 3 that we were keeping IIRC)
Nets 24' and 2 2nd round picks to Atlanta Murray and Tate to Lakers Future unprotected pick and swap to Rockets Turn this year's Nets pick to another one down the line + a swap. This extends and adds to the Rockets' assets to help set up a big trade down the line.
Just get a cheap temporary backup C please. I will be really irritated if they don't solve this issue. Get someone cheap like Drummond.
Do you prefer your disappointment served hot or cold? Three 2nds for Adams may indicate that book is closed foe this year
I'm not ready to believe it yet. I think we could go for someone very cheap or even sign an FA. I'll take a Nerlens Noel at this point.
It certainly is. And it’s not a bad move. If you aren’t enamored with anyone in this year’s class, you can retain the pick value into the future. It looks like the BKN pick will be pretty good this year, but turning it into the Lakers 2029 first will have good value, too.
Yes, even if it's just somebody situational to platoon with Jeff Green, who I'm okay with at the 5 in some matchups but not in others. I also really want us to add a movement shooter to the bench. Somebody who can hit threes without being set up for a wide open catch-and-shoot. That would likely be a more expensive acquisition though.
I just can't imagine not offering that catch and shoot role to Cam (if negative defenders are being considered as targets). He has 100% earned it. However, if we can get someone who is steady with turnovers and plays defense too, that would be very good.
Well, theoretically we should have one open slot on the bench unit if we get rid of Tate and Holiday or move them to the third string (which we absolutely should do): Amen ??? Cam Tari Uncle Jeff/other backup big to platoon with him I'd ideally like to have some sort of young combo guard for the 2 spot.
I feel like Holiday or Bullock would be good in that role, no? That guy is just going to be a corner 3pt shooter. Bullock is sometimes a decent defender, especially later in the season. Maybe you just need a spacer for Amen and Cam to get to work? I would also consider sliding Bari in there to get him some more shots. I mean I'm not going to say no to more help, I'm just wondering if it's even possible to get a player as good as that without giving up a FRP.
This is why the play-in games are rubbish. No team winning 31 or 32 games deserves to be in the Playoffs.
Yeah, our spacing is bad off the bench because we keep running Tate out there. The problem I see is that I'm not sold on Cam as a movement shooter in the context of this season--that's something he can add to his game over time, but right now he's mainly making them on catch-and-shoot or pull-up opportunities where he's already wide open. For me, he is the "stand in the corner" guy for this year (which also is the best spot for him to use his athleticism on cuts). We need somebody who can get himself open and/or hit contested shots at the perimeter. Holiday is too small and only good on stationary, wide-open catch-and-shoot opportunities. Bullock is... Bullock.
