This is a silly trade, but is best thing I could come up with to get Tate to Phoenix since Phoenix can't trade a FRP without one coming back. Boston In Holiday+ Brooklyn 2024 Rockets In Boston 2024 FRP Suns In Tate + less of Boston FRP swap and Phoenix FRP + 2 SRPs Rockets In Better of Phoenix and Boston FRPs. Eric Gordon or Okogie or other flotsom
Here's a trade idea guaranteed to annoy some people Would I do it? Probably not, I don't know that we need to be pushing our chips in just yet, and I'm not sure that trade makes us a "real" contender next season. Probably more like 5th or 6th seed. Ainge probably wouldn't go for it either.
Jalen Green, Jock Landale, all Nets picks returned (2 first / 2 swaps / one 2nd) for Mikel Bridges, Day’Ron Sharpe, Mavs 2029 1st Find a team to take Tate (unless he okays not being in the rotation) Perhaps try to flip Sharpe + Oladipo for WCJ if the Magic are interested
I'd hate to lose Smith, but I would do this trade as it basically is one star from contender. I'd say Cleveland level roster except it will have ability to trade 4 FRPs and 3 swaps in off-season for a star (i.e. roster still flexible to add while Cleveland is locked into roster unless they breakup their man guys).
This looks kind of realistic / reasonable (for both sides). It's one of those, run it by a Jazz fan or two, to test the temperature to see what their reactions are.
I doubt they would like it as Lauri is loved there. Imagine that package for Sengun for Turkish Houstonians. They would not like it.
No doubt he is, Jalen and Jabari have fans here too. Both sides are paying a big price, it more comes down to if such a trade will move both orgs towards the directions they want to go. Stone and Ainge wouldn't least think about it.
Two posts in a row on this page say, "Here's a silly trade" (dumping Tate to get EG back??) and "Here's a trade idea guaranteed to annoy some people. Would I do it? Probably not..." Why bother posting, then?? Because you were able to get the trade checker to greenlight it? Yikes. I guess the thread title does say "random trades," so maybe I shouldn't be expecting more.
Works as 2 separate trades... not 1 big one Trade #1: HOU - POR - IND POR: Oladipo (HOU) + Marjonvic (HOU) + Holiday (HOU) + Bullock (HOU) + BRK 2024 FRP (lottery protected) converts two SRPs if it doesn't convey this year IND: Tate (HOU) HOU: Brogdon (POR) + Jalen Smith (IND) Trade #2: HOU - POR Landale for Timelord (RW3)
Nic Claxton more available for trade than previously advertised I’ve heard more than once this week not to discount the idea that Brooklyn big man Nic Claxton could be more available over the next seven days than previously advertised. 15 mins ago – via marcstein.substack.com fits our timeline. Go get him with an agreement to resign.
I would be fine with it, but I bet they, at a minimum, ask for their 2024 pick back, going by their other demands. Which begs the question--do we prefer Claxton on [whatever contract] to a rookie big man from that class?
3s are worth more than 2s. If the Rockets are giving up 150, they would be scoring 160 minimum once they execute the move after this.
On my silly trade, the Suns are rumored interested in Tate. My silly trade is the most reasonable framework to get Tate to the Suns as the Suns don't have desireable SRPs, and can't trade a FRP without getting one even crappier back. In other words, Tate isn't going to the Suns unless something silly happens.
Who cares about getting Tate to the Suns just because they want him? Or are you saying that either a) Gordon will be better for us than Tate, or b) Tate is worth less than a late FRP? I just don't understand what you're going for here. Or why.
