Here we are… in a few short weeks…

Jalen Green, Tate, and Oladipo PLUS both Nets FRP.
    …for…
    Jonathan Isaac (6’11”)
    Anthony Black
    Goga Bitadze

Orlando is healthy again and we need bigs. The Magic get scoring and cap cleansing plus 2 FRPs that look really promising. It’s a bit of an over pay because Bitadze although a perfect backup is on a 1 year deal. Isaac (hopefully knee is okay has been injured for years) is perfect to play next to Sengun. Smith goes to the beach as the leader (offense runs through him -> summer league) Black & Amen together not much scoring but a lot of winning. Moving Tate and Green opens room for Black, Amen and Cam all 3 where top tier picks going into the draft. Something good has to happen with that much talent mixed with what we got going on. Money works less the million in this year’s salary. Go Rockets

be nice it’s in the random trade

I can't imagine the Magic making any big moves. They are playing fantastic despite being one of the youngest NBA teams.

What is everyone's thoughts about Jerami Grant? He's having a pretty decent year -- 22 points on good efficiency, hitting .4 from three, is a decent defender, etc. He is a little on the older side and locked into a 5 year, 160 mil contract, but he would slide in well as our 3 in the starting lineup, with Brooks sliding to 2 and Green coming off the bench. I'm assuming it wouldn't take a ransom to get him.

FVV / Brooks / Grant / Smith / Sengun is a well-rounded lineup with much better shooting, and Grant's offense will give us time to figure out our future between Amen, Green, and Whitmore.

I wonder what the chances are of New Orleans just straight blowing it up. They're in no-man's land thanks to Ingram's injuries and Zion being Zion. They probably think "we can fix this" but personally I don't think it's ever gonna happen. You can't build around those dudes, they have to be complementary pieces at best (and for Zion maybe not even that).

We have different views, mold Jabari into a 3 where he can use his length as an additional advantage to his skill set. Let Jabari play behind Brooks and learn the position for a while. That’s what Jabari’s game looks like anyway. Jabari as a 3 can really be an all star vs a good player. Just my thoughts.

This is true. Goga is going to get paid next season. Maybe not the Magic but by someone. The Pacers let him slip away from them.

Black’s play doesn’t fill up the stat sheets, but it’s winning basketball.

I wish Green had the value to push the trade trough. His trade value peaked at the last draft. It’s down hill from here.

I think Jabari is better at the 3 than 4 right now. Once he fills out he will be dominant at the four. I like Dillon and think he has been instrumental in turning our culture around, but in two years I hope he is coming off the bench. The NBA is not going to let him to continue to play effectively, because of his personality. The last 3 or 4 games his impact has been minimized by the refs and I don’t look for that to change. I would love to see a trade for Bridges using Dillon and Green. Starting lineup in two years: Amen, Bridges, Tari, beefed up Bari, Sengun. That would be a defensive juggernaut. We would need to add a decent backup center and several sharp shooters. Cam, Dillon, FVV, Tate, and a decent backup center would be phenomenal.

Is there any chance we can pick up Okongwu for an expiring contract and a FRP? They just signed him to an extension and his salary balloons up to $14m after this season, so I'm not sure about trade restrictions.

Would be a good investment. His FT% has improved a lot and his 3PT% looks like it will catch up. Great shotblocker, 7'2+ wingspan. Has a fouling problem but Udoka seems to have ironed that out of Sengun's game. After some time I bet he and Sengun can even share the floor for some lineups.

I don't know what the Hawks are thinking. They need to blow it up or fully rebuild around Trae. Maybe they think there's a chance they become a serious contender with gradual improvements but I don't see it.

I don't think Hawks would be willing to move him unless for a crazy offer (much more than an expiring and a FRP). He's young and on a reasonable contract, and is good and getting better. Much more likely they move Clint in order to shed salary, and just put Okongwu in the starting lineup.

My feeling is that if they choose to go young (rebuild) then they would prefer a pick over a player whose ceiling is most likely a role playing paint protector.

You think it would take two FRP's? I don't think anyone would pay that. Maybe a FRP and a future pick swap.

I just don't think they're looking to move him at all. Their plan does seem to go younger, and cut some costs, and the most logical move to that end is to move off of Clint and replace him in the starting lineup with Okungwu. So, any order to get them to go a different direction than that, you'd probably have to really overpay to get them to change course.

We could probably get Capella from them for expiring salaries and a SRP, but I don't think we want to pay Clint 20 mill per to be our backup center and get 15 mpg tops.
