Porter had issues with Cavs too, change helped him. Malone is a hard case IMO, easy to get in his doghouse especially if he already has a plethora of vets at the position who do not need to be coached or developed. Remember all Malone's issues with MPJ?
Simmons is better than Wall, but I wouldn't do that. Tate and Martin maybe, but not Porter Jr for Ben.
Rockets trade Wood, House, Gordon, # 23, # 24, 2023 proted FRP via Wizards, 2023 unprotected FRP via Bucks. Rockets receive Kevin Love, # 3, # 32 Rockets draft: 2 - Jalen Green, 3 - Evan Mobley, 32 - JT Thor Rockets sign Richaun Holmes, Otto Porter Jnr. Why they do this: They cash in on some of their draft stock and the impressive Christian Wood to find 3 cornerstones of the franchise in KPJ, Jalen Green and Mobley. They hold on to most the picks the got in the Harden trade but have to swallow Loves contract. They sign some young vets that could help the team seach for a play in spot if everything falls right. Cavs trade Kevin Love, Larry Nance, # 3 Cavs receive Wood, # 11, # 21, 2023 unprotected FRP via Bucks Cavs draft: 11 - Moses Moody, 21 - Ziaire Williams Cavs resign Jarrett Allen, sign Kriss Dunn Why they do this: If the Cavs want to win sooner rather than later, Christian Wood should help you in the short term. While still having a young team, this makes them a lot more well rounded. They will still have a trade asset in Sexton which should net them a possitive return, while handing the reigns over to Garland. Knicks trade # 21, # 32 Knicks receive Gordon, House No draft Knicks resign Derrick Rose, Nerlens and sign James Johnson Why they do this: Knicks go to win now mode by adding some vet role players. They bring back the guys who worked for them last year and hope Randle still improves on his stellar last season to see them through the playoffs. The knicks still have room for another major FA signing, even though the pickings may be slim this FA year. Hornets trade # 11 Hornets receive Larry Nance, # 23, # 24, 2023 protected FRP via Wizards. Draft: 23 - Chris Duarte, 24 - Isaiah Jackson Hornets resign Malik Monk Why they do this: Hornets get more role players around Ball and build their bench but give up # 11 to do so. They also pick up Nance who would be a great small ball 5 in this system which is somethinh Charlotte have gone too with PJ Washington
He got us the #2 pick he deserves every penny of his contract. If he can get us a top 10 next year he should get a bonus
Your love for Wall is misplaced then. If Wood does not get injured, Rockets are battling for 10th place. As inept and selfish as Wall is, it was Wood's injury that ensured a last place finish.
I want the 7 & 14, Wiggins is a two way player that is just grossly over paid. He is not a bust just way over hyped coming into the league. I believe he would be a good mentor, too. He is not going to make us a championship team by himself BUT the two lottery pick may. Wood is nice player and out playing is contract is a big part of his appeal. I want Wood like players locked in rookie contracts for the next 6 years. I think with the 2 / 7 / 14 we will hit on one maybe two.
Dude I’m just excited for the future. Stop confusing me with words This rebuilt couldn’t be going any better lol
What if the Warriors didn't include 14? I doubt they send 2 lotto picks for a non-all-star. I would make that trade quickly!!
Rockets in: Kevin Love, #3 Rockets out: Wood, Gordon, House, #23, #24 KPJ/Green/Tate/Love/Mobley Wall/Khyri/KJ/FA/FA ---------------------------- Warriors in: Wood, Gordon, #24 Warriors out: Wiggins, #7, #14 Steph/Gordon/Klay/Draymond/Wood Tre Mann?/Poole/Pascall/FA/FA ---------------------------- Cleveland in: #7, #14, #23, Wiggins, House Cleveland out: #3, Love Garland/Moody?/Wiggins/Nance/Allen Sexton(trade?)/Wade/Okoro/Cedi/Kai Jones?
The way I see it. By the time you needa pay Green/Mobley then both Wall and Loves contracts are gone. We're not gunna be a huge free agent destination imo so we use our cap space to swallow some bad contracts but take value (in this case massive value in the 3rd pick) back. It's the price you pay to have that much good young talent on your team. I think we can still afford to extend KPJ without going into the luxury.. would need to double check to be honest
