I'm not high on Fultz, but if Wall is collecting dust, and given a good opportunity cost, why not look at it. Issac is intriguing, with his height and wingspan, can get playing time. He's seems like to buckle the trend with the unvaccinated stance and standing in national anthem while his teammates kneeled. Not to say politically this is good or bad, just he seems to have a case of being a contrarian.

I wonder if this is one of this proposals if you floated on a Magic board, they'll say 'hell naw, we don't want Wall, hang up the phone Magic GM" :D Their fans aside, their GM might do it as you said because they want to keep their other core.

Dear media, the Rockets are not trying to "get out" from under Gordon's contract. So no to expirings and 1 late 2nd round pick.

EGo should actually be starting SG for Rockets right now.

    He's EARNED it.

It will also boost his value.

2 deals to bring home the tank and set the Rockets up for the future:

EG to Cleveland for Rubio & Cleveland's FRP (currently pick 22)

Wood to Washington for Thomas Bryant, Rui Hachimura and a swap of their pick (currently pick 14) with the Miami/Brooklyn pick.

These deals provide the Rockets with a possible rotation player at the 4 (Hachimura) and picks 3, 14, & 22 to solidify their forward rotation for the future. I'm hoping the backcourt is pretty set with KPJ/Green/Christopher

This is why I think it's possible a deal like this could happen.

    Really like Issac.

Would Jalen Smith (PHX) and PJ Washington (CHA) be good pickups for Gordon and Wood?

I want to send Gordon to PHX so he can hopefully win a ring with Paul. And I think Charlotte is the only team who might actually value Wood and he would have a shot at the playoffs.

Thoughts or trades that would benefit us while sending them to those teams?

(Cleveland and Memphis seem like good destinations too for Gordon but not quite as good a chance at a title).

    • It’s more likely Houston does a smaller-scale deal around the margins prior to the trade deadline. Teams have expressed interest in acquiring veterans Daniel Theis and David Nwaba ahead of the Feb. 10 deadline, sources tell The Athletic. With the Rockets having their full roster healthy, both Theis and Nwaba have been on the outside looking in on head coach Stephen Silas’ rotation. Both players have value to older, more established teams looking for deep playoff runs, something Houston can’t offer at this juncture. There has also been some interest in backup point guard D.J. Augustin, sources tell The Athletic, albeit to a lesser degree.

Trading Theis and Nwaba are the right moves.

Will miss Nwaba but Rockets are loaded with players 6'6 and under.

    Mostly under.

I had to remind myself how ugly that Theis contract was. $8 mill a year isn't bad but he still has 3 years remaining. Even if Houston just wants an expiring for him I'm afraid that's all we would get, without any 2nd rounders attached.

Not retaining Olynyk was at worst incompetence, at best irresponsible.

Olynyk already proved he and Wood could play together.

And he would have been excellent next to Sengun as well.

    Utah gets Eric Gordon
    Cleveland gets Joe Ingles
Houston gets Utah's 2026 1st round pick Top 3 protected, Cleveland's 2022 1st round pick, and Ricky Rubio

Houston effectively turned Eric Gordon into two 1st rounders, albeit low end 1sts.

I feel like we could have drafted Slim Duncan, kept Olynyk, and moved Wood.

Probably could have just kept him anyway...

This is the worst trade I’ve ever seen. Robinson is on the worst contract from this past offseason, Yurtseven is a 23 year old rookie. Delete this. Wood is worth a lot more than this John Wall type package.

If Rockets had kept Jarrett Allen and drafted Mobley they could have fielded an even better 3 headed starting BIGS unit than Cavs.

Wood is better offensively AND defensively than Markkanen.

And Wall/KPJ + EGo is just as good or better than Garland + Sexton

Okoro and Tate/Nwaba are a wash at best.

With Olynyk off the bench instead of Love.
