REAL TALK House + unprotected 2nd round pick in some cases would have to take back some garbage for any of these ballers: Otto Porter Jr (GSW) long shot, but Hoya Saxa (could offer him starting spot!) Jordan Nwora (MIL) no way Bucks say yes... but gotta try Naji Marshall (NOP) Get.this.done Alize Johnson (CHI) Oshae Brissett (IND) Taurean Prince (MN) would have to work EGo in somehow Jarred Vanderbilt (MN) have to wait until Jan. Cameron Oliver (LAL) really should have found a way to keep this dude Kevin Knox (NY) Dead a$$ Jalen McDaniels (CHA) Jamorko Pickett (DET) no 2nd for Pickett, but Hoya Saxa! Need a defensive front court player at the 3 spot. House.ain't.it.... at.all
Opening up the roster and changing what we do to help ourselves & Simmons really reach full potential. Nets Kyrie Irving For Gordon, Wood, & House Nets move on from drama with Harden’s old running mates 76ers Simmons For Kyrie Irving 76ers move on from drama with a different drama but a better like fit. Us Gordon, Wood, & House (add pick(s) if and where needed) For Simmons Opens 2 roster spots, & more importantly 2 rotation spots —> Definitely upgrades the defense. Tate, Martin, Garuda & Christopher all say thank you because there would be room for them to all develop. We can run a double high post with Sengun & Simmons. Lots of strong cutters and spot up shooters on the roster. Rick Adelman’s offense would be a ideal. Simmons played the 4 in college. In the right setting he would cover up all of his weaknesses and play to his strengths only. We are still to deep but this helps a lot.
https://fanspo.com/nba/s/general/tr...cavs-6ers-take-too-long-pacers-look-elsewhere Bit of a novel, but hope this makes sense. Trade 1: - Rockets get Myles Turner & Jeremy Lamb - Pacers get Pascal Siakam - Raps get Christian Wood, Eric Gordon & 2022 Pacers FRP Trade 2: - Rockets get Kevin Love & Ricky Rubio - Clippers get John Wall - Cavs get Serge Ibaka, Luke Kennard, Eric Bledsoe & Danuel House Jnr. ++Rockets++ As much as i LOVE Christian Wood and would love to hold onto him. Theres one glaring weakness in his game and its one that could KILL the Rockets long term. Thats his defense. With defensive deficiency in both guard spots, you would hope to have an anchor at the 5. Unfortunately, Rākau (iykyk) falls short here, by quite a lot. Swapping him out with the similarly aged Myles Turner, who has shown a penchant for hitting the 3 ball, could help get the Rockets back on track. Myles may have to wait to be on a contending team again, but being the "vet" leader on this team could be a nice change of pace (no pun intended). Being able to move Gordon for an expiring could be huge long term, for a team gearing up to spend money in the next couple years. Moving Wall for Love and Rubio just makes sense right? Its basically a no lose for the Rockets, who would find themselves in a similar situation with Love as they are Wall, albiet Love may be open to playing. Something i go on about with Love on the Rockets is having a real opportunity to help change the culture around metal health in the NBA. With Love, KPJ and John Lucas leading the way, it could be a game changer moving forward. ++Pacers++ After waiting too long for the 6ers to budge, they decide on another direction. Next to Sabonis, on paper, Siakam seems like a clear upgrade. They do take a risk on Siakam being healthy, but if this pans out, new coach Rick Carlisle could see himself right back in the playoffs. While Carlisle does like to play a bit faster, theres arguement that swapping out Sabonis instead of Turner would be the right move. Time will tell, but in an apples to apples comparison, Sabonis is the better player. Adding Siakam also means that if TJ Warren becomes disgruntled by the trade deadline, he could be an asset dangled in another trade. ++Raptors++ They get a big man and one that can really score. In a team full of defense minded players, adding a 20 and 10 big man to the mix sounds like a no brainer, even if it is at the expense of one of your home grown all star players. Gordon should help off the bench too for a team that is lacking in guard punch. Adding a couple more win now players may also convince Dragic to stick around. A 1-2 punch of Dragic and Gordon off the bench could give 2nd units fits. The pick helps get this across the line. The Raptors are a good drafting team, and finding another asset in what should be another good draft could pan out in the long run. ++Clippers++ With Hartenstein looking more and more competent during pre-season, this may leave the returning from injury, Ibaka a bit expendable. Its unknown when Ibaka will be back, so letting him go, as opposed to waiting on yet ANOTHER piece to get healthy, may be the right move. Kennard could barely crack the rotation in the playoffs last year and with the addition of Keon Johnson and Justise Winslow in the off season, may struggle to find minutes heading into the season. Wall is a clear upgrade over Bledsoe and you hope that Wall likes it in LA enough (who doesnt?) that he declines the last year of his contract to sign long term for less money, much like the CP3 contract in Pheonix. ++Cavs++ Bit of a no brainer moving on from Love at this point. Its pretty clear that neither side has interest in riding this out for the next couple years. Plus with Mobley and Markanan now in the mix, where does Love even fit? Losing Rubio may sting, but Bledsoe should make up for the lost bench minutes. Plus adding some much needed shooting with Kennard (Cavs were dead last in 3pt stats last year) and filling another need in wing depth with House, the Cavs could see themselves coming out on top here.
Trade one looks pretty good. I think turner is a better fit for us than Wood. Seems reasonable for everyone, although Toronto may want more for Siakim. Trade 2 I don’t want any part of. Now that Wall is willing to sit, there is no reason to take back anything other than expirings for him.
In the spirt of “trade Wood now to get some value before his contract expires” bad ideas. HOU in: DiVincenzo, Oubre, 2 FRPs (NO via LAL, MIL), 2 SRPs (MIL, CHA) HOU out: Wood, House Why: I’d rather pay Wood, but if Stone thinks differently, this gets us reasonable value. DiV and Oubre round up our guard & wing rotation nicely. More picks to find a star or use in trades. We get rid of House. Tank harder in 2022. MIL in: Wood MIL out: Lopez, DiV, 2022 FRP, 1 SRP Why: Upgrade Lopez to Wood, get value from DiV before FA, maximize Middleton/Jrue peak years NO in: Lopez, House NO out: Valanciunas, 2024 FRP via LAL Why: Lopez better defender and outside shooter than Vale, so a better fit next to Williamson + 1 extra year contract CHA in: Valanciunas CHA out: Oubre, SRP Why: Vale is an upgrade at C over Plumlee. Oubre not needed due to SF/PF competition with PJ, Bridges, Hayward
I just dont see any team being able to match expiring contracts for Wall. The idea is with love at least money comes off the books next year which would be roughly $20m less than Wall (Loves salary drops to about $28m), and i think Wall gets even harder to move next year. Yes hes expiring but who can match it? Especially if we want to help transistion him to a team he wants to play for. Love isnt a game changer on the court for us by any means, i just think if we sit someone. Why not the one who will be making far less money than Wall? This also helps get off Gordons contract, which is where you gain the value back on swapping Wood out for Turner. Im still iffy on Siakams value. Hes coming off injury back to a team who has a tonn of depth at the forward spots, but is lacking in a true big and guard depth. This definitely helps, but its a matter of finding the right value for him, especially after last season. In my mind hes slightly above what we value Wood at, or how the Pistons value Jerami Grant. But im always happy to be wrong
Malcolm Brogdon (Grade 1 left AC sprain), Justin Holiday (left ankle sprain), Caris LeVert (sore lower back), Kelan Martin (left hamstring strain), and TJ Warren (recovering from navicular fracture) are all OUT for the Pacers tomorrow in their preseason game … I am still convinced that Warren and Lamb for EGo (and DH?) makes so much sense. So. Much. Sense.
I know the rumors of Gordon to Indy pop up all the time, but from what i understand, theyre pretty over blown. Im not convinced the Pacers pull the trigger in that, although i would be SUPER happy to be wrong.
Stupid Crazy 5 Teamer.. does it work? Is it enough for Dame?? +++++ Blazers in: Wall, Lavert, Wood, Maxey, 2022 FRP from the Pacers, 2022 FRP from the 6ers, 2023 FRP from the Rockets via Milwaukee, 2024 FRP from the 6ers, 2025 top 10 protected FRP from the Warriors Blazers out: Lillard, Nurkic, Simons +++++ 6ers in: Lillard 6ers out: Simmons, Maxey, 2022 FRP, 2024 FRP +++++ Pacers in: Simmons, Wiggins, Nance Pacers out: Turner, Brogdon, Lavert, Lamb, 2022 FRP +++++ Warriors in: Brogdon, Nurkic Warriors out: Wiggins, Top 10 protected 2025 FRP +++++ Rockets in: Turner, Lamb, Simons Rockets out: Wall, Wood, 2023 FRP via Milwaukee +++++ ++Blazers++ Is this enough for Lillard? Im not 100% sure but its up there. Nurkic unfortunately has had a pretty injury plagued career, but has been great when healthy, so losing him as well as Lillard could hurt. However.. The combo of Wall and Wood SHOULD keep them competitive and a playoff hopefull. You hope that Wall finds a home here and declines his last year to sign a long term deal. Much like Paul in Pheonix. And although im not the biggest Lavert fan, hes still a good player in the right situation. Maxey is the cherry on top and could the the incumbent point guard. The 5 picks should help too ♂️ ++6ers++ Get their guy, and relatively cheap. To be honest the could throw in another FRP to get this over the line. This ones simple. They get the best player in the trade. ++Pacers++ Not only do they get the guy theyve been eying up from the 6ers. They also help solve their 4/5 rotation, that has been a hot topic of trade rumors for the last couple years. I think Carlisle's style fits with Turner more than Sabonis, which seems to push the pace a little more, however Sabonis is the better all around player. Nance and Simmons help cover his defensive issues too. Wiggins also showed huge strides in his D last as well. With Simmons, Nance and Wiggins sloted into the starting line up, the Pacers look like an all around well balanced and dare i say - better team. ++Rockets++ While happy to hold onto and sit Wall, they find a situation that suits him. A team still (imo) in the playoff hunt. Woods defensive struggles have long been his biggest negative, and unfortunately having 2 offense minded guards means his lack of defense has become a bigger issue. Turner is a similar age to Wood (who DOES fit the timeline despite what people say) but hangs his hat on the defensive end. Its a matter of swapping one for the other. Theres also the potential there of running Sengun at the 4 spot next to Turner making Theis the big man off the bench. The other thing this does is open up a ton of cap for the Rockets too who could be a willing dumping ground for assets come the trade deadline. They wont be competing any time soon, but this hopefully sets the young guys up nicely moving forward. Im also not a big Simons guy, but if he could up his passing and playmaking, he could find himself a niche as a PG off the bench ahead of Augustine. The potential lineup of KPJ/Green/Tate/Sengun and Turner with Augustine/JayGup/Gordon/Nwaba/KJ and Theis off the bench warms my heart. Moving Gordon and/or Augustine would still be on the cards too, especially if they want to give the living flamethrower Armoni Brooks, time on the court as well. ++Warriors++ Two of the Warriors "issues" outside of health, are their 5 spot (at least until Wiseman becomes what he should be), and playmaking outside of Steph. Nurkic and Brogdon help both those areas. Having wing depth makes Wiggins expendable and moving Otto Porter Jnr into the starting lineup makes sense. With Moody, Poole, Kuminga and Wiseman all theoretically coming off the bench (personally think Kuminga could use more g league time), Brogdon could be the vet anchor they need. Otherwise him starting next to Steph could be a solid 1-2 punch, at least until Klay is likely to return.
from my lofty (sic) perspective, Indy has a host of injured and more injured swingmen. And loftyesque goals. Thus and so etc etc.
I do believe a major trade is going to happen before the season starts, Gordon and House was out on purpose. I know Morey likes House and Gordon but needs more firepower. Irving is not going to Philly or he will retire and they are not going to trade Simmons to the East team: Toronto: Walls, Garuba Houston: Thybulle, Simmons Philly: Siakam, House, Dragic and Gordon 2 FRP from Houston
I bet they maybe will trade him to an east team. With the intention of then finishing higher than that team because of Simmons sucking at basketball.
Siakam is worth a lot more than Wall and Garuba. Their biggest "need" is most likely at the 5. They still have FVV, Barnes, OG, Precious and Boucher who fill those roles. Siakam has had one bad/injured season. He was an all star before that and made an All NBA team two years ago.
lmao why would Toronto ever do this? They already have a point guard in VanVleet. Not to mentioned you have them giving up Siakam for the worst contract in the league.
Well here is a random thought Simmons & Springer For Green, Wood, & Gordon (no picks) Porter / Christopher / Garuda / Simmons & Sengun —> Springer Brooks / Tate / Martin / Thies 10 deep with more talent still on the bench.
Not sure if you’re serious. I’ve yet to go through all 34 pages for this thread, but I had to sign in just to say this has to be the worst trade idea in the entire thread.
