I think Mitchell was a reason they felt comfortable moving Hali Wood for Mitchell is essentially a very poor man’s version of the Hali for Sabonis trade, but even worse for the Kings because Wood is expiring, and they already executed the trade for Sabonis. fox wood sabonis is a disgusting core defensively
There's the risk Chet is out of the league in 5 years. He doesn't have an NBA body yet... lot of boom bust potential...
There is a long lust of top 5 picks who couldn't play at the next level... Chet is rail thin... what will happen when he adda 40 pounds?
He doesn’t need to add 40 pounds. 10-15 pounds of lean muscle is all he needs. So Chet, Mobley and Wemby are all going to get hurt because they’re skinny. Just making sure now
I could see something like this very possible. Rockets drafting either Jabari/Holmgren/Banchero/ and keeping there pick but trading away all of the net assets to move toward getting back into playoffs very quickly. Jabari, Sengun, Green, Walker, Mitchell Is attractive. I mean better than wood, porter.
No way. You gave away all our bullets for a dude who can't play defense and can't carry a team. He's no Durant / Harden / Lebron / Giannis.
Clint was 220 when he was drafted in 2014 (4-6 lbs more than Mobley). It took him several seasons to gain that additional 25 lbs of muscle. And Clint is a 5, Chet is a 4.
Easiest i could find for average was 2019... Average power forward weight: 232 Average center weight: 250 The only position under 200 is point guard... http://hoopobsession.com/2019HtWt.html I cited Clint because he's one of the leaner 5s in the nba. I understand you call him a 4, he's 35 pounds below average. He could play lighter but if you're expecting him to be the rim protector in the paint he's going to get beat up inside for rebounds... I guess you could waste him on defense and park him on the perimeter, but why draft him then? I'm not saying don't draft him. I'm saying there's additional risk because he doesn't have an nba body and adding the muscle may affect his game in an unintentional way.
When he came in maybe. Still has nothing to do with Chet. They’re completely different types of players. Clint can’t do half of what Chet does on the perimeter.
I don't get the Chet needs to add weight argument. Why can't he just play SF. Then small ball 5 when teams get small. Sengun is strong enough to guard the other teams bigs. Chet will just be a weakside help like Covington but better. I like Jabari the most but if he's not there might as well give Chet a shot. People are afraid he's gonna be a bust cuz an American born white player hasn't led a team to a championship since Larry Bird 35 years ago. But I'm starting to change my mind. He plays smart and he dominated everywhere he played. Great positional defense is an instinct and he has it.
Thank you, I'm aware of that. I didn't mention it because it seemed irrelevant to playing in the paint which is where you want him on defense. If you want him to play outside like Durant you can get away with it. If you wantnhim to protect the rim he's going against guys with 50 pounds on him.... Increases the chances of injury or failure...
It's the 195 and him playing in the paint to protect the rim; which is his elite skill set. Without the rim protection he's a borderline lottery pick.
You don't but it helps tremendously. Harder to backup Green or Porter's guy blowing by them if Chet is coming from behind on the perimeter. This isn't controversial to say a 4/5 rookie needs to put on muscle.
