I like Eason. I would rather take TyTy before him , we need a good backup for KPJ. I'm starting to think that Josh Christopher will be left out though. He needs minutes to flourish and I'm adamant on retaining him. Trade EG for 2 future second round picks.

I like TyTy too but it's never a good idea to draft backups imo.

The goal is to draft potential starters in 1st round, especially in top 20.

And Rockets desperately need to get longer and better defensively, first and foremost.

It's in our favor. There's no incentive for the Kings.

The Rockets already have world-class* defense.

    *That world being Krypton.

would do in a heartbeat . I don’t think sac would do it tho . To make it more fair would you include Christopher or garuba ?

if we included both they’d probably think about it . But they traded Halliburton... Mitchell is their guy

    Trade targets should be:

    1. Hawks Jalen Johnson
    2. Hornets Kai Jones
    3. Pacers Myles Turner

One of these players would give Rockets more optionality leading up to the draft.

Rockets should draft BPA (or move around in draft via trade such that a guy that fits is the BPA). Use trades/free agency to find guys that fit.

A deal that makes sense for all sides:

Houston out: Wood, Tate, and pick 17
Houston in: Kemba Walker, Miles Plumlee, pick 15 and Dallas' 2023 first round pick
Why?: Thin the roster of older(-ish) players, getting more (token) veteran voices in the locker room and those sweet, sweet draft picks.

New York out: Kemba, pick 11 and Dallas' 2023 first
New York in: PJ Washington, Tate and pick 17
Why?: Kemba is dead weight and a lineup of Quickley/Barrett/Reddish/Randle/Robinson with Rose/Washington/Tate/Noel off the bench makes the playoffs I think. Basically they build their bench by moving an unnecessary player and moving back 6 spots. And they still have their big assets for a possible Mitchell deal.

Charlotte out: PJ Washington, Miles Plumlee and pick 15
Charlotte in: Wood and pick 11
Why? Wood is a good match with Ball and Washington has already been supplanted by Miles Bridges (who is about to get paid). Plumlee's minutes are taken up by Wood and by the development of Kai Jones. And they move up a few spots in the draft to boot.

That's a pretty good trade. I'm not sure if Denver will bite.

I'd like to make a new thread on this topic but there are already so many draft threads it's getting ridiculous.

My question to everyone would be if you could trade up to get another Top 5 pick, who would you be willing to part with?

For instance, would anyone be willing to trade Green for like the 2nd or 3rd Pick if it meant we got to get Chet AND Jabari, or Chet AND Ivey, or Jabari AND Ivey, or any other combination of the top players in the draft?

I for one would like to see Christopher get more playing time and if Green were traded, it would open up a lot of time for him. You would still have Porter and KJ, etc.

    Roster could potentially look like:

    P.G. - Porter Jr. (6-5)
    S.G. - Christopher (6-5)
    S.F. - Smith (6-10)
    P.F. - Holmgren (7-0)
    ..C. - Sengun (6-10)

That would be a HUGE starting front court and overall imposing team. I wouldn't be against it.

I'm down with Green for an equally talented player because it gives us an extra year on a rookie contract. That said, the risk seems way too high. Green was really good to finish the season with killer efficiency. I think Chet is the best prospect in this draft and while he may be better than Green someday, you gotta go with the bird in the hand. The last few months of the season, Green was everything he was hyped to be. At this point, I'm inclined to take the bird in the hand and keep Green,

Putting a lot of others thought together and trying to make them more realistic.

    Blazers
    In Gordon & Porter
    Out Bledsoe and 2 SRP
Why? Gives DL some to play with and Bledsoe is one in the last year of his deal. We say thank you for your service and move forward.

    Hornets
    In Wood & Tate
Out Kia Jones & Kelly Oubre PLUS future FRP (lottery projected)
Why? Jones is starting center and Oubre is filler on a one year. We move forward churning for the right players. Thank both plays for their service and both are better than when we found them.

    Grizzlies
    In Nwaba, Mathews & Martin
    Out De’Anthony Melton
Why? We give 3 dimes for a quarter to get our starting point guard(their back up PG) They improve their bench and Martin gets to be on a winning team.

Melton, Green, Oubre, Sengun & Jones => Christopher, Garuba, Nix, Queen. This is a lottery team (for now) but lots of potential for growth.

Draft whosever and fill in. (Sharpe with 4th pick & Kendall Brown with the Nets pick.)

I want to trade Banchero if he's the 3rd pick and add Martin or Tate for Kuminga and a filler. I admit it's going to be hard to pull it off, and Sengun needs minutes. Wood will need to be traded for an expiring contract.
I think Stone will select Jabari or Chet with the first two picks.
