Well Portland needs to retool fast for Dame and Wood can play when he wants to play. He and Dame would be a problem. Tate is a good up and coming versatile wing that can play some PF in a pinch. Gordon can still give Dame some help by spacing the floor and getting you 16 points a night. Throw in Nwaba for defense. That might look more appealing. Wood didn't put out defensively because he always got hurt every 10 games in previous seasons. Didn't make sense for him to put out defensively in a tank season and end up getting hurt. But Portland can tap in to his potential or find out he's not all that. Yet to be determined. Will Indy or Pistons offer more than one guy? Part of the incentive with our players are the expiring contracts.
I'd probably roll with Holmgren and Ivey since Smith and Banchero would be gone by 4. Any combination of those 4 would be fine with me though. And like Ive said before if we could snatch up Christian Braun somewhere in the second round with a trade that would be ideal.
Ask yourself this? Would you like the rockets have Myles Turner or Grant or Wood, Tate, Gordon? Easy answer for me, because I think Wood is what he is and will never put out defensively. Detroit and Indy are re-building teams just like us and think they would be willing to give up a lot for that 6th pick. We would have to throw in our 17th at minimum.
I'd take the Houston deal. Logic? Did Grant or Myles Turner do enough to keep Pistons or Pacers from terrible seasons? You: no, those teams were tanking Me: yeah, so we're the Rockets and Wood And I like that I can walk away from these players if I choose. Eric Gordon buys me time for their young guards to develop Elijah Hughes 1 yr in the league Keon Johnson rookie Didi Louzada 1 yr in the league Tate gives Nassir Little time to develop as SF CJ Elieby 1 year in the league These guys have note arrived yet. Anfernee Simmons has just shown up after 3 years and now scored 17 points per game. Do they want to chance Keegan Murray or someone at #6 as well. Mikal Bridges has taken about 3 years to develop (this being his fourth year with the Suns) Blazers have a out two years, maybe to start producing.....Rockets offer quantity (multiple players) vs quality (one Grant or one Myles Turner) One Sabonis hasn't turned the Kings into royalty.
@Hemingway we shall agree that we disagree. But I have Wood as more potent than he has shown. The Washington game opened my eyes that Wood is just dogging it and "Embracing the Suck." Washington 3/21/22 Porzingis was clowning Wood the whole first half and then dunk on Wood before halftime and pissed off Wood. Wood said, oh yeah, you think I'm trying? Ended up with: 39 pts...14/18....8/9 (3P)...10 rebs...2 Ast...1 stl...1 blk Wood had: 9 pts....3/5.....1-2 (3P)....2/2 (FT)...2 rebs...1 Ast...1 blk at halftime. So yes there is another gear that Wood has that will either show up if we remove the "Tank Mode" label this upcoming season.......or the Blazers could tap in to that. I can't remember when Dame had a 3-pt shooting big. Ed Davis? No, Nurkic? No Whiteside? No Covington? Wood is more accurate. Wood would give Dame incredible spacing. More than Jerami Grant. Myles is coming off of injury and a little older. But I digress
It really comes down to opinions on Wood. I’m not anti-Wood, but the fact is that nobody was willing to pay the price at the deadline. There is a different dynamic with Portland though. If we get Jabari, I wouldn’t mind running Wood out in a lineup of KPJ, Green, Wood, Jabari, and Sengun if we can’t get a decent return for him. I hope Portland bites on a proposal from us, but I do believe they are going to want something some draft compensation in return. All the red flags on Wood and Gordon that the Rockets have, other teams do as well.
Knicks and Rockets trade. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y68x9y42 Comes out even based on espn. I think Gordon gets knicks team closer. Plus maybe this helps the chances of the knicks signing a bigger name with Gordon there to help there trio with Randle/Barrett/Rose/Reddit/Gordon/Fournier Big Free Agent? Rockets need the Defense down low so Toppin/Noel make sense.
Yeah I think Wood can play and I've blasted him throughout the season. But Tank Mode trump's a lot of effort or stat numbers. In a Tank Mode season losing is WINNING and winning is LOSING. All stats and records need to be taken with a grain of salt
So Rockets would have 3 picks in this draft? #1 7'0 Chet Holmgren #6 6'8 Tari Eason #17 7'0 Mark Williams I'd do that trade if so. Question is would Stone? He likes Wood.
Don't be surprised if Silver does a LeBron special With the 1st of the 2022 draft.......Chet Holmgren...Los Angeles Lakers LeBron is recently quoted as saying, he is never missing the playoffs for the entirety his career. Hello Chet

@steddinotayto League always wanted to pair LeBron and Durant together...haha another joke.....Chet....being Durant....haha he....he
Such rubbish I am reading! C. Wood is the best player for the last two seasons and can do much better now that we will not be tanking. Why would be trade him? He isn't going to cost us an arm and a leg! Y
