I remember when we were all desperate to land Gortat to fix our center problems...now we have Dwight & Omer! I love this Game!
Who says no? Wolves get: Larry Sanders, Ekpe Udoh Bucks get: Nikola Pekovic, sign and trade, ~12 mil a year (that's the latest rumored number in his talks with the Wolves) The Bucks want to stay in the playoffs, and this should help them. They trade Sanders for another young-ish big man who's a better fit. Pekovic's power will help a lot defensively; he's actually a pretty good defender vs. low post bigs. With their pogo stick frontcourt rotation last year, the Bucks were destroyed by most good low post players. The Bucks lose a lot of rim protection and mobility by giving up Sanders, but they still have Henson to provide that. Offensively, they would also have a team that makes far more sense. g Brandon Knight g Mayo f Delfino or Ilyasova f Ilyasova or Henson c Pekovic A legit low post option, surrounded with a lot of shooting, potentially even a stretch 4 in Ilyasova. If they don't want to rebuild and want to push for a low playoff seed in the East, then it seems to make sense. The Wolves get a rim protector which i think they need more than what Pekovic brings. Udoh is a salary filler, but he would also add to their bench defense. Love will provide the bulk, Sanders will provide the rim protection. They might be a half-respectable defense with this trade.
Wolves are more likely to say No, but it's still a feasible trade. I feel like the Wolves could get more for Pekovic, but maybe not.
Actually that's quite feasible. I can see them trying to land cousins actually. They have the picks and young assets to do it i believe. I think it's a pretty fair scenario. And you can always toss a pick here and there during negotiations, but it's a great starting spot for a trade. I really don't see Minnesota paying pekovic that much money. I think he gets a SnT soon. Another landing spot i see is Portland.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kqeptwz Indy out: Granger/2nd Indy in: Deng Outlook: They upgrade their already amazing defense, and deng can knock down shots although he isnt the scorer they are losing. He is a good fit and they become better suited to beat miami. Chicago out: Deng Chicago in: Granger/2nd Outlook: They lose thibs workhorse but get a additional scorer that rose has needed next to him forever it seems. they lose a bit of defense but butler can be the new deng.
Portland sends: Aldridge, Mo Williams (when able to trade) Detroit sends: Greg Monroe, Rodney Stuckey, Tony Mitchell, and unprotected first. Why Portland does this: - starts a true rebuild around Lillard, Monroe, Batum - gets long term value for a "unhappy, older" player - remains a decent team (~40ish win team) with a future Why Detroit does this: - Becomes a dark horse contender in East - improves spacing (Jennings, Billups, Mo Will, Singler, Datome, KCP, Charlie, etc. = plenty of 3pt shooting to offset Smith and Drummond) - avoids overpaying Monroe
http://www1.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6356501 This is really, really unlikely. But, I kinda like it even if it is kind of ludicrious. It involves two teams that are a mess and need to completely shake it up in the Knicks and Cleveland. This trade basically assumes that the Knicks decide to blow it up and start over (same with the Cavs), and also assumes that the Pacers and Cavaliers would not ****-block each other in a trade (as they're divisional rivals). Given the nice deal Indiana gets, I think they might go through with it, even if it means arming the Cavs. Cleveland sends Bynum,Jarrett Jack,Alonzo Gee, Bennett, and Thompson to the Knicks in exchange for Bargnani and Carmelo. Cleveland also sends Sacramento's 2014 pick to NY as well as Memphis' 2015 pick, Miami's 2015 first rounder, and Portland's 2016 2nd rounder. The Knicks send Chandler to the Pelicans for Eric Gordon, who (along with Iman Shumpert) is send to the Pacers. The Knicks get to dump three of their biggest contracts (although not Amar'e because he is probably impossible to trade) and get to take fliers on Thompson and Bennett. Bynum and Granger's contracts both expire at the end of the year. Jarrett Jack's contract is not errenous nor is Gee's; and are used for salary matching purposes. The Knicks would (ideally) be able to flip Jack later. While the Knicks, admittedly, don't save as much as they might with other teams, they get to re-stock their shelves with draft picks (something they sorely lack). For Cleveland, this trade is all about trying to maximize Irving's prime with another superstar. There were rumors they were interested in trading for Rudy Gay several years ago and Aldrige this summer, so it's not totally out of character for them to trade for Melo. Of course, the biggest question would be if Carmelo would stay in Cleveland, but perhaps playing with Irving (and the extra year and higher max his new team could offer) would persuade him. New Orleans has an extra guard, and given all the Asik-Anderson rumors we heard, it's no secret they want a legit center to pair with Davis. Trading Gordon for Chandler is a no brainer. For Indiana, this move is all about trying to win now. They trade away a non-contributor for a shooting guard who, when healthy, can provide solid scoring. They also pick up a solid, defensive specialist in Shumpert. While Gordon's contract is a little big, the Pacers appear to be in a win-now move, and I think this move might be able to put them over the top (a rotation of Stephenson-Gordon-George-Shumpert has so many possibilities to maximize offense and defense). I can't tell whether this is all complete idiocy or a stroke of brilliance, so I figured I'd post it here to be judged.
Been thinking about a McGee for Hibbert swap. Im wondring if both partues would be interested because both players could use a scenery change. Hibbert especially could thrive in that enviroment. And McGee with indy i think would help buckle him down further and he would fit the defensive identity there...
I think Minnesota should do a series of trades and rebuild with large pieces. Send Love to GS for Thompson, Barnes, Lee Send Lee and Martin and a 1st for Cousins and Landry Send Rubio and Budinger for Marcus Smart and Olynyk if Rondo is sent away. Smart Thompson Barnes Cousins Pekovic Role Players of Brewer, Olynyk, Muhammad, laVine, shved,Barea Could go far if done correctly.
highly unlikely. sactown is trying to win and two absurd contracts in lee and martin is def not going to cut it. also think they could get a lot more for rubio than smart and olynik... if im minnesota i easily trade love to cleveland for wiggins. and start a rebuild. but since they want to stay competetive and reevant (et al the rockets route). the following i could see as much more feasible. Minny Out: Love/Barea/Martin Minny In: Thompsan/Wiggins/Bennett/Waiters/(NG contracts of Gee/hopson/powell; which they will subsequently cut and release for cap space) Cleveland Out: Thompsan/Wiggins/Bennett/Waiters/'15 1st Cleveland In: Love/Martin Houston In: Barea/cleve '15 1st Houston Out: Gee/Hopson/Powell That leaves minnesota with a lineup of Rubio/schved/Lavine Waiters/Wiggins/Robinson III Wiggins/Bennett/Shabazz Thompsan/Bennett/Mbah a Moute Pekovic/Dieng/Turiaf Pretty solid for losing your best player and plenty of future.
This is for Denver in order to get rid of Gallo, Chandler, and McGee. McGee and Fournier to Indiana for Hibbert Gallo to Houston for Jones, Canaan Chandler and 1st rounder to Sac for Gay, McCallum Builds bench at 4 of 5 positions. Also serviceable replacements in the starting line up.
Gallo is coming off a season ending injury. I think Jones and Canaan and maybe a few seconds could land us Gallo who id personally take over Ilyasova anyday.
Just to put Ilyasova and Gallinari in comparison, EI is 27. And Gallo is 25. 2012-2013 season Ilyasova put up: 13.1 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 1.6 APG, .9 SPG, and .5 BPG, while shooting 46% from the field, 44% from 3 and 79% from FT-Line in 28 minutes per game as the 2nd-3rd Option. Same season Gallo put up: 16.2 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 2.5 APG, .9 SPG, and .5 BPG, while shooting 41% from the field, 37% from 3 and 82% from FT-Line in 32 minutes as the 3rd-4th option. Ilyasova is more efficient but last year his 3 ball dropped to 28%. Also he's 2 years older and is the same height and weight as Gallo. Ilyasova is also a better rebounder but he's a natural 4 while Gallo is a 3. Still think Gallo could fit better if he bulks up.
