I seriously doubt anyone caves with a 1st. Only a contender would. Cleveland doesn't have one, clippers don't, Memphis doesn't, Toronto doesn't but has clips 1st? I doubt morey does it, doubt Boston would. Maybe Washington? Maybe Utah, maybe San Antonio? But those are all high prices for a rental. I think a very reasonable and very successful trade would be Brewer/kj/ennis(puupuu platter) +1st to phoenix Tyson/barbosa to Houston. Bad contract for bad contract in brewer Vs Tyson. Tyson is much more serviceable but brewers contract is lower and less years. Kj/ennis for barbosa is kinda a loss but it's an expiring for rookie contracts and Kj has a team option. Phoenix grabs a 1st they covet for 2 players (birds?) who likely want out of their situation and current roles. Honestly I'd be pretty content going to the playoffs this year with a rotation of Harden Bev Ariza Rhyno Chandler _________ Gordon Barbosa Dekker Montrezl Capela
If he's available, I'd go KJ and a 2nd for Sefolosha. Seems like the kind of deal both teams would do. No chance Atlanta doesn't make the playoffs, but also no chance they compete. Also, they've got too many wings as is. Houston gets to replace Brewer with a better defender and shooter. Bench unit looks like: Beverley Gordon Sefolosha Dekker Nene
Kings have made Darren Collison available. He is 5M expiring. Could be a nice playmaker/shooter guard for the Rockets in MDA's system.
suns are shopping brandon knight... could be our 2nd playmaker off bench? and he can shooot the ball lights out. lets be honest, bev is no playmaker lol his baseline drives to kick out gets old too fast
if the kings are set on tanking, throw them this. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=j4wy58z
Brandon Knight has not been good for the Suns, even off the bench, and is not consistent. Plus, sometimes unplayable for Phoenix. But I'd take him in a buyout.
i definitely don't think it'll be a "couple" of picks...maybe a future 2nd thrown in, but the firesale is on in sactown.
Not even sure how I would feel about this trade but would you do the following: Houston Out KJ Brewer Ariza Ennis -could be replaced with Gentile and or LLul Houston In DeAndre Jordan Luc Mbah a Moute In this trade you keep the draft picks for sure, the Ariza aspect of this deal clearly stings offensively however more than defensively. Also almost certain they ask for Capela back. Not in love with it but throwing it out there because I think if we were to make a bigger trade this may be more doable than a Carmelo Anthony type deal we keep our best 3 players and Beverley and our defense will improve for sure
I don't think LAC are letting DJ go. I have come to believe he would be the best center to pair with Harden, but hes going to cost an arm and a leg. Plus hes going to tie up a bunch of cap space. We might be able to get the same production (slightly less actually) out of a Nerlens Noel or Lucas Nogueira or Kyle O'Quinn. Im not a big fan of KOQ but for peanuts vs 20mill I might just have to be. Clippers would want a lot back though, probably ask for Eric Gordon+Ariza+Picks. I just dont think im ready to gut the team for that. Best case scenario is Houston continues on our course and continue doing well, LAC continues to stagnate, then when DJ's contract comes up not this off-season but next, we get him in free agency to play in his home town. I still think there's some value in getting the Brazilians from Toronto, Lucas Nogueira and Bruno Caboclo. This is a Morey type move, low cost, potential reward. Morey also helps out his players personally. Remember, Harden and Lawson were cool, Dwight Howard and Josh Smith PLAYED AAU BALL TOGETHER (but really Dwight was Josh Smith's best man in his wedding) and I think Harden recruited Ariza around this time: My point is I think if Nene put in some good words, not that hes on the level of Harden or Howard, Morey might listen. Unlike Lawson and Smith, this is a low salary cap situation. Little risk involved. I dont know for a fact that Nene is friends with them, but I know he talked highly of them on a couple of occasions.
To the above point, I wholeheartedly believe that the moves Morey makes go through James. If James doesn't like it, it's not going to happen. Nene's word alone won't get it done. Thursday can't get here fast enough.
I don't like Darren... you just have to pony up the cash for him next year.... and I don't know if the Rockets will do that... maybe will demand $14-$15 million dollars a year. Unless they want KJ and Dennis and a 2nd. Then sure.
Morey: Vlade/Vivek I'll give you Capella, Dekker, Harrell, every pther first round pick until 2050, cash, breakfast klub, treasures, my daughter, clutch the bear, clutchfans, and my soul For Cousins and any unwanted contracts. Vlade/Vivek: nah, we will take Buddy, mid first rounder and a second pick. That is muh better. ... Can't blame Morey or anyone else other than the Kings. Can't logic with the illogical.
