Yep, but it's not like they are the Dream Team, they could trim their roster by getting rid of some scrubs. Teams don't trade one of their best assets / players at a huge discount just to get under roster size limit.
Any idea how to reunite Ty & Brewer with the Manimal? We know Morey would love to have him and with the possible loss of D-Mo or TJ next summer and the lack of physicality and rebounding by both so far (TJ has bulked up though), is there a realistic scenario?
He wouldn't be a good fit. He has bad defence (though he has supposedly commited to improving him) and he thinks he is a star. He can't space the floor or shoot and he has a bad contract.(though it is bound to get better with the multiple cap rises).
the reason i did is not only because you called it. but because of him getting in trouble again the rockets saved a lot of assets. most likely it would have taken something like that to get him otherwise. but maybe we can bring in someone else otherwise. this team is almost set though. it's hard to look around at teams in the league and say that player could somehow be available and would into the current team and actually improve it. im not even sure a player like kyle korver would be that much better. he is another year older and injured last season. al horford is a name i have seen thrown around. didn't people used to say he always wanted to play PF and not C?
T. Jones to Toronto T. Ross to Boston K. Olynyk to Houston Olynyk can play both 4/5 spot and shoots .350 from 3 at 2.7 attempts a game. he's also a better defender than Jones but not as good a rebounder as Jones. most importantly, Olynyk's contract last 1 more year than Jone's, so we don't lose an asset when Morey going all out on Durant/Horford/Conley... next summer.
Is he really a better defender than Jones? Is this based on some advanced stats? From what I've seen, I think he's bad.
Less worse than Jones at guarding centers....though with Howard, Capela, and DMo, I don't see the need for a guy that is less worse than Jones at guarding centers.
Yeah but having a big to stretch the floor is something sorely missing in our lineup. DMo is average, Jones leaves a lot to be desired. MH isn't that guy either. If we could somehow swing a trade for R.Anderson, he'd be ideal.
ah ok I understand. Well that was what I thought it would take to get him before the new DUI. he is a bad defender who can't box out or rebound well and is very "soft". of course the difference in value is partially made up in having two more years of team control while Jones (and Ross ) have only one. Anyway the biggest problem in that trade is that Boston has no need whatsoever of Ross. They have way too many guards. They also have SOOO much capspace next year they have no need of trading for Jones and giving up assets if they really want to pay him. Jones is in real risk of leaving in FA anyway because of the pressure of Houston.(so is DMO).
If they really want to limit DH12's minutes better get a reliable backup C. Remember DMo is still not healthy and DM would choose between him and Jones who will get an extension
Will a Center shake loose from Minnesota? They have Towns, Dieng & Pekovic and all probably worthy of playing time, which they could get here when Dwight sits out.
After Minny buys out Bennett, they'll need a forward. DMo to Minny using Brewer's TE. Dieng to Houston using Shved's TE. Sign Boozer for the last spot and we should be deep in every position.
