No Just want to move that contract and never look back. We will be crying about the loss of Harden's prime over the next 3 season if something is not done now. Howard is an athlete that plays basketball not a basketball player that is an athlete. His vaule will never be higher than right now. It going to cost us to move him if we CAN. The players we would receive in the trade help the long term or are done at season's end but will only help while here. If I am wrong we gave up to much to soon. But got some nice cheap core players from it. Plus are still flexible for the next FA that wants to play with Harden going forward. If I am right we dodged a franchise killing contract and saved Harden's time and the 1/2 of his career. To me it's a must move.
If you insist on trading Dwight to Brooklyn....this seems like a better deal for Rockets and Brooklyn. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nub2nhc
Or to the Clips for shooting and D...surrounding harden with a great supporting cast....like Jordan in the late 80s, early 90s. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ncgjqtp
I'm not in favor of trading DH....I was just throwing some Howard trades that could happen...sort of.
I want to move big money contracts, no thanks to Lopez, or Williams. Melo and Harden do not seem like a fit, IMO. YOUNGER TALENT PLEASE on their first big contract or rookie contract. That will grow with Harden. Lets not give up all flexibility. Lets learn from our misfortunes.
I guess that I'm confused...you say that we'd go all in chasing a ring by doing this trade, but it doesn't seem like the type of deal that makes us better. It would certainly push the reset button a bit, and would give us some cap flexibility.
YES you right the salaries have to match that is why I put KG in my trade proposal. That is $12M off the books at season's end. Not a long term commitment. Max players money is based off of time in the league. That is why Howard's max is more than Harden's max.
Better? Plumlee > unhealthy Howard Telotovic = Jones Jack > Beverley KG > Dorsey That is why the picks are warranted Push the reset button? How all four of the player are rotation upgrades and we are a play-off team already. So?
Just a disagreement on who is better....If DH is at home, then I'd take Plumlee...otherwise, Howard. Jones is better, imho. Jack is better than Bev KG is better than Dorsey, most of the time. I'm just not sure if it's an upgrade across the board, and would propel the Rockets towards a championship.
Now that DH is out maybe two freaking months...time to start the search for a big on the block. In a dream sequence, this is what I'd like to see happen: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=l9fewvs Greg Monroe and Singler for Pappa, Clint, Cannan, and a draft pick This has about a 30-40% chance of happening. Another big man on the block who we could use: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=o57nz45 Brook Lopez, Markel Brown for Terry, Pappa, Shved, and Jones I'd say a 30% chance How about this one? http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mmo3p4z David West and a filler for Pappa, Shved, Jones, and Nick I'd say a 55% chance of happening. And this is the one that I could see happening http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kf3qo4q Enes Kanter for Pappa and a number 1 pick This, imo, has about a 70% chance of happening.
Bev's line tonight is yet another reminder that we need an upgrade at PG.....2pts and 1 assist in 20 minutes. <----Joke of a starting NBA pg. Nice little highlight for MCW... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVf-QvmwG70
