Tyreke cannot defend 1's. He cannot hit the 3-ball. He doesn't like to finish, preferring to settle for the 15 foot pull up. And he takes a ton of time getting into his move which is dribble dribble dribble, pull up, shoot. Tyreke is not a trade target.
You're dancing around what I called you out for. No one is upset here. You said Morey **** the bed with Lowry and Dragic. I proved to you the Lowry thing was justified. I'm not defending morey nor am I attacking Lowry, nor have I even mentioned Dragic til now. You made a few points, one of which was saying trading Lowry was a huge mistake and you are wrong with that point. That is all
OJ Mayo is having a nice bounce back year on an expiring contract- I wonder if Morey is kicking the tires on him as a rental?
There's no doubt that Tyreke isn't perfect....I don't think that it's available, but, he's better than what we have now....That's all I'm trying to do by suggesting these trades. Bev is an 11pt, 4reb, 3ast guy, who's shooting 39%....and his defense has been so-so. Evans is bigger, better offensively, better distributor, and he commands attention, rather than be an afterthought at the 3pt line. Tyreke isn't the best we can get, but there's no guarantee that anyone will give us what we want. I'd like to see an upgrade at the PG....someone who likes to pass, can create for themselves and others, and can occasionally hit an open 3. That's all...
no, he's not. He's on the "avoid at all costs" list. Has 2 more years after this one at over $10 million each. We'd have to ask for all the lottery protection to be removed from this pick and 2 extra future first rounders to take on that boat anchor.
You didn't prove anything to me...Morey got value for Lowry, but he didn't know that Harden would be available...he was stockpiling assets. Harden had nothing to do with trading Lowry....he was 3 months away from becoming a Rocket, not 3 days. You can disagree with me about it being a mistake, but simply stating that I am wrong is a bit short-sighted. In my original post I stated that both Lowry and Dragic were mistakes....because we lost both players for lesser value. At the time, Morey had no idea what he would do with the pick....there was no Harden. But to end this disagreement, let's just say that we don't agree on Lowry leaving....what's your defense on Dragic basically being replaced by Lin for the same money? It was a mistake then, and is now....
I don't think that he's a bad player...but, we don't have to agree. Who would you suggest that we go after...a realistic target, that a team might actually trade to us, without giving away the farm? That's pretty much what I'm doing...trying to think about players who aren't mentioned ad naseum by the talking heads. It isn't easy finding good PGs who are available for what we have to offer back(without giving up the core guys). Thanks for your input....I appreciate good debate.
Darren Collison amd Reggie Evans for Pappa, Cannan, and a pick http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kbz6jzq DC is an upgrade, and Evans provides some rebounding and D while Dwight's out.
If you're considering below the radar point guards...I think Prigioni is a possibility if we can't get anything else done. Expiring contract, can shoot the 3, scrambles and plays the passing lanes on defense. He's a fit and wouldn't cost anything but a mediocre second rounder. Perhaps we flip Canaan directly for Prigioni (since we ain't playing Canaan) with a conditional pick available to us later if Canaan turns into something for the Knicks. If you're looking for a possible Pels pickup, I'd suggest you consider Eric Gordon way before either Tyreke or Jrue. Gordon is coming around. Owed big money next season but if we keep the Pels pick that would be a decent trade package if we wanted to make a big move in the off season. Rodney Stuckey is another low-cost guy that might be available if Indy decides to pack it in. Randy Foye another low-cost guy.
Prigioni is on my radar....not a bad player, but he's getting up there in age. I'd prefer Calderon bc he's a bit better passing, and can shoot lights out(and he's 3 years younger),,,but that 7million is a problem. I have to ask...why Gordon? He wouldn't really help out with creating for others....he's a great bench option at the 2, but would he handle that?
Haha. Why do I need to defend moreys move for dragic. I didn't say everything you said was wrong. Are you so upset about making such a false claim about Lowry that you have to rebuttal with other points not related to our argument. You said morey **** the bed with trading Lowry and it is unforgivable. That is a false statement. You are wrong. The fact that morey didn't know it was going to turn into harden and that harden was gonna be a star doesn't make your argument valid.
For those who don't know much about MCW, here's a little video of how he plays: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ES9z5PVB5M8
I think you should re read your post and my argument against it. Then you should think about what "**** the bed" and "unforgivable" means. Then think about whether trading Lowry at the time when we weren't going anywhere for a lottery pick that netted us Harden was a mistake, let alone an "unforgivable" one.
Are you really that insecure? It's my opinion....it doesn't have to have any objective value like Right or Wrong...because it's my opinion. You have your opinion...we disagree, that's all. Go and bother your neighbor, or walk your dog, or make a sandwich...because what your spouting here is just dumb. I'll let you in on a little secret....my opinion on the trade of Lowry will never change...regardless of what you say. If you had enlightened me about some bit of info that I wasn't aware of, and if that info swayed my thoughts on the trade, I'd let you know....I'm open-minded, I'll admit when I'm wrong(but this is opinion)....and if you would've helped me to change my opinion, I'd thank you and move on.<------This didn't happen. I haven't moved a bit in my opinion....so you should probably just move along yourself. How about this....instead of just criticizing others, why don't you take part in this section....a section about trades....what's your fix? Who'd you trade for?
You do know that I wasn't writing only to you when I posted my original piece, right? I don't need you to prove what I said was either correct or incorrect. What you might not realize is that I was criticizing BOTH moves....we had two very good PGs...we got rid of both. While Lowry's pick was very beneficial to us as a team, the moves that got rid of both Lowry and Dragic, in my opinion, were a mistake. Without Toronto's pick, do you really think that Morey couldn't have worked that trade out some how? That pick had no value attached to it...the season hadn't started yet....they didn't know where that Toronto pick would fall. We got Harden in 2012...Adams was drafted in 2013...Jeremy Lamb and Kevin Martin were the most important parts at the time.....why am I even wasting my time. I don't care if you agree...that's your right. Have a GREAT day.
I used a bit of hyperbole when stating my displeasure with Morey's moves....sorry you're so GD literal that you can't understand this. Why don't you take some Zopilcone and take a nap...maybe spellcheck your screen name(you spelled it wrong).
What happened to that? And you are correct. I misspelled zopilcone when I first knew about it. Before I used it as my username. unforgivable?
