Would give Jones for Len if they would do It. Jones with all the point guards would be a nice fit. With Len and DMo we would be set for years.
Hou: Papa, Johnson, Dorsey, Minnesota 2nd rounder '15 Denver: Afflalo Hou: Shved, New York 2nd rounder '15 Charlotte: Brian Roberts, Charlotte 2nd rounder '15 I have no idea if that is enough to get Afflalo, but that's about as much as I'd give up for him. And I know Shved can't be combined with another player, but he can be combined with a pick, correct? If the first trade is completed, we'd only have Howard and Dmo at center. I guess we could sign someone or call up Capela. I really like our big man rotation, though, so I don't think it's a big deal.
Done at the trade deadline... Nets out: Lopez Nets in: Shved, Kpap, Warren, Plumlee, 1 of phx's picks Suns in: Lopez, Canaan, NOP Suns out: Dragic x 2, Warren, Plumlee, a pick Rockets in: Dragic x 2 Rockets out: Shved, Kpap, Canaan, NOP Suns get a 26 year old C to add to the build and a lotto pick - actually get better to try and keep a playoff spot and still have room to build. Nets get money off their books next year (owner needs some relief) and a pick Rockets...well they exploit a 2 situations to help themselves
good analysis and really knows what's going on in NBA. i agree everything in your post. I was just saying with the Brandon Wright trade and the Suns pushing for that 8th spot, Dragic seems not a realistic shot now. and Lawson is not a good fit for this team. Morey really needs to explore other options for the PG upgrade, and the fact that the Bucks didn't extend Knight might tells it isn't a lock if you view from Milwaukee's financial point.
Pretty low, unless he can go off when he comes back. We can't be sure when he is going to return yet, unfortunately.
Rockets get: Kevin Garnett Nets get: Remaining TPE Money, Kostas, Capela Beverley/Canaan Harden/Terry Ariza/Brewer Motiejunas/Smith Howard/Garnett
I like KG as a 20-25 minutes/game role player on a team gunning for a championship, in what is almost certainly the final season of his tremendous career, but if Houston is using its key trade chips (i.e., its medium-sized expiring contracts) to acquire a 20-25 mpg role player in his late thirties, rather than, say, Ty Lawson, or some other star player in his prime, this qualifies as a major disappointment. BTW, your trade does not work. This works: Jason Terry, Kostas Papanikolaou, and a second round pick to Brooklyn; Kevin Garnett to Houston Alternatively, if you are interested in an excellent veteran rebounder/defender whose team is going nowhere, and who is MUCH easier to acquire, since he is MUCH cheaper than KG, here is who you should go after: Reggie Evans I love Reggie Evans! And so do advanced stats. Always remember that Daryl Morey is looking for VALUE, for under the radar guys who are undervalued/unappreciated by the rest of the league, and who are identified as really good players by the advanced stats utilized by his front office. Some clever team will acquire Reggie Evans for a second round pick at the trade deadline, and their fans will yawn when it happens, but in April/May, these same fans will love this guy.

Are you kidding? This is a great trade for Houston, two marginal role players with expiring contracts (Terry and Papanikolaou), a non-rotation first year player (Capela), and a late lottery (#13 overall-ish) pick for an All-Star-caliber PG in his prime.
