The Bucks would likely love to dump him and his contract and he's supposedly elite in advanced stats for interior defense. He'd be a more expensive version of Asik ultimately. Love to have him but he's wasted at backup center.
I think that going after Brandon Knight and Henson would fix all that's wrong with our team(at 5-0, not much is wrong). Knight is a scorer and a good distributor, and Henson can board and play D(and has a decent shot).
The Knicks are well on their way to missing the playoffs. A 34 year old Dalembert on an expiring won't matter to them by February. I hadn't thought about Calderon...good idea, but only if we've got Horford (because Calderon's contract extends for 3 more years). It was rumored we were trying to trade for him when we acquired Howard. I don't buy that Millsap/Horford are connected at the hip. Them trading Millsap, who is expiring this year and whom they don't have full bird rights on, doesn't really have any baring on what they do with Horford. That said, I want Horford.....bad. He's exactly what we need from our 4. Would give almost anything to Atlanta for him, but we don't have enough right now. Check back at the trade deadline.
1. Davis 2. Love 3. Aldrich 4. Duncan 5. Ibaka 6. Nowitzki 7. Anderson 8. Milsap 9. Horford 10. Faried 11. Gasol 12. Randolph 13. West 14. Monroe 15. Lee In my opinion those are about the best PF's in the NBA. Out of those these are the only ones that are available. Ordered from most to marginally available. Anderson West Monroe Milsap Horfod Lee Randolph Gasol Ibaka Aldrich The others are simply not possible to trade for under any circumstances. It is interesting to see it put on paper and listed out. I have no clue what will happen but Aldrich for example no way we have enough to get him and keep the starters intact.
My top semi-realistic targets are Dragic, Rondo, Milsap, Horford. Dragic is the only one that will fit into the TPE we have from the Lin trade. Dragic Trade: Dragic for NOP pick, rights to Sergio Llull and a second round pick. The Rockets it's an obvious upgrade. The Suns get more assets to pull off that big trade they need. 2 extra picks, Llull who they could bring over next season and a TPE for themselves is a fair haul for a player who is slumping right now and is pretty much an expiring contract. Trade for Milsap or Horford: - Terry, T-Jones, D-Mo, Isaiah Cannan or Nick Johnson for Milsap or Horford. If we were to pull off both trades: Dragic/Bev Harden/Daniels Ariza/Pap Horford/Pap Dwight/Horford/Black That's a championship level team right there, perhaps even favourites.
I like Dragic, but they will want more unless we wait until trade deadline and his performance hasn't picked up.
Is Kyrie Irving completely out of the question? It's still very early, but LeBron and Irving don't seem to be on the same page. Obviously it would have to be a 3 team trade as I doubt we have anything the Cavs would be interested in.
Kyrie is going to get battered on the defensive side of the ball in the WC. Oh and he's injury prone. Not what we are looking for. PG wise, I'm fine with Beverley and Canaan. Rondo is a pipe dream, we'll have to give out an arm and leg for him. Dragic is our best bet for a serious upgrade in the PG position. We need to take advantage of the oversupply in PF that the Bucks have. Think one of them can pan out for us.
I'm not sure if Horford is as "gett-able" as you believe. He is the backbone to the Hawks organization. If they are trading him while he is locked into a 2 year contract getting paid just $12 per year, they will want a kings ransom. Here's the only way I see it happening: 1) Capela dominates in D-League and plays quality minutes in the NBA before the trade deadline. 2) Papanikolaou continues to improve and shows promise as a "6th man" type. 3) It appears that New Orleans is going to miss the playoffs, giving their pick some lotto potential. 4) Canaan shows potential to be a starting caliber PG. If ALL FOUR of those things happen, then we've got a shot....a good shot. At this point, I don't think TJones is a significant part of this. He hasn't consistently shown "all-star" type potential, so why would Atlanta want him if they are going into rebuilding mode? So something like this: Horford Teague - Lin TPE for Papanikolaou Terry Capela Canaan NOP 1st Teague probably has neutral value relative to his contract around the league. If they are starting over, then I doubt they want to keep him. You may say to yourself "That's a heavy price to pay for Horford", but the reality is it's a quality for quantity trade, and that quality is very good. Beverley / Teague Harden / Daniels Ariza / ? Horford / TJones Howard / DMo You'd still have a bevy of 2nds to fix your short term problems at backup SG, SF, and Center. Short term because Llull and Gentile may be coming over next year.
What we really really need is a Backup C. realistically there aren't very name out there but I kinda dig deep into the whole league and some good names came out. From our division there is no much to offer really. In fact is kind of hard to find a good big in the West except the Jazz and maybe The Wolves or Nuggets. The East though is totally different. Miami has Andersen, Orlando has Tobias Harris (which is more like a PF but well). Charlotte has Biyombo, ATL has Harford (He is not cheap or a Back up for that matter). Milwaukee Henson, Zaza and Sanders, Pacers have Mahimi, Detroit has Monroe. The nets have KG (which would be a great Fit in my opinion) and even the Knicks have Dalambert. I really Love Taric Black's story and everything but the time is now and any of this players will be a great addition for our team. PS:Can Golden State keep Harrinson Barnes ?
Bev, Canaan, Wolters Harden, Terry, Ariza, Pap, Garcia Henson, Donuts, Adrien Howard, (Henson), Black, Capela Jones + Daniels for Henson + Wolters from the Bucks Simultaneous trade: TPE + Johnson via min exception for 2nd playmaker, 6th man. Sign Adrien
Kyle O'Quinn (ORL).... check him out. Could be our backup C/PF "Hurt" right now... could be had for cheap
If we want a backup C it should be Mozgov from Denver. Capela+NO PIck+1 2nd Rounder I also like Bismack, he isn't getting much burn atm,but Clifford wants him to prove himself, he is a great defensive presence and is only 22.
With all those guards, it's going to be near impossible for Dragic to replicate last year's number. I expect a "down" year from the Gogi. You are mad.
Hou in: Jerekbo, Dunleavy, Reggie Evans Sac in: Josh Smith, Clint Capella, Mirotic, 1st rounder from Detroit DEt in: Rudy Gay, DMo, NOP pick Chi: Kostas, Casspi we run a lineup of Bev, Harde ,Ariza, Jones, Howard Backup of Canaan, Terry, Dunleavy,Jerekbo, and reggie evan
