NOP Pick+Canaan+Gee (sept)+Jones+Cov+Hopson for Jeff Teague. ATL also trades us Milsap for the TPE. Sign Marion for 1 year Howard/Dorsey/Motiejunas Milsap/Motiejunas Ariza/Marion Harden/Daniels Teague/Bev
Rockets out: Alonzo Gee, Pelies pick Rockets in: Cody Zeller Rockets out: DMo/TJones/Canaan/Covington Rockets in: Goran Dragic Hornets out: Cody Zeller Hornets in: Pat Beverley and Pelies pick PHX out: Goran Dragic PHX in: DMo/TJones/Canaan/Covington(cut)/Gee (cut) Goran/Harden/Ariza/Dwight/CZeller (if we can't have Love...we need to get Zeller)
Making Love-a-Bull Houston receives: Taj Gibson Chicago receives: Kevin Love, Robert Covington Minnesota receives: Mirotic, McDermott, Jones, picks + Gee (for salary matching) Rockets 'sweeten' the Chicago offer by throwing in a pick (+ Jones), Bulls give a pick. To be honest, if I'm Houston, I probably wouldn't want to go 'all in' on that Pelicans pick for Taj Gibson. And don't know if it is a good enough deal for Minny, but I think 2 firsts + 3 young talents is a pretty fair haul for a guy who is leaving anyway. Perhaps change the Rockets to 2 2nds?
Would love to have Gibson on this team..... That would be a great lineup with Howard Gibson Ariza Harden Beverley T_Man
So basically we give up the most and replace our somewhat proven pg and pf with an unproven pg and pf. Yea...... NO!
I am projecting three more moves by Daryl Morey which will result in a true 2014-15 championship contender: 1) Sign Shawn Marion with what is left of your MLE. Give him two years, all $ guaranteed. That would be a two year deal that pays him $4.8 mil in 2014-15 and about the same in 2015-16. 2) Use the trade exemption to absorb the salary of either Tayshaun Prince, Wilson Chandler, or Landry Fields. All three are overpaid, all three have expiring contracts. Each player has a mid-sized contract which is necessary to complete the third and final move. Houston cannot package the TPE with other players, which is why it is necessary to make this move. Denver and Memphis are pretty close to being in luxury tax territory so they would both benefit from some breathing room. 3) Trade the following package to Boston for Rajon Rondo: New Orleans first round pick Clint Capela Wilson Chandler OR Tayshaun Prince OR Landry Fields Isaiah Canaan Donatas Motiejunas One or more of the nonguaranteed contracts of players you don't care about (Alonzo Gee, Josh Powell, Scotty Hopson) This trade can be executed as early as late August, two months before the season starts. That gives this team more time to gel. 2014-15 roster after these three moves: Starting lineup PG Rajon Rondo (32 minutes/game) SG James Harden (36 min/g) SF Trevor Ariza (32 min/g) PF Terrence Jones (28 min/g) C Dwight Howard (32 min/g) Key reserves Shawn Marion (24 min/g) Patrick Beverley (16 min/g) Joey Dorsey (16 min/g) Robert Covington (12 min/g) Troy Daniels (12 min/g) End of the bench Ish Smith Jeff Adrien One more guy (a C, if possible) Stashed in the developmental league Nick Johnson Mystery undrafted rookie (not yet on the roster) I expect this team to compete for a championship this season if Rondo can have a strong season. We do not really know if he is going to be a terrific player again. A trade for Rondo is obviously a gamble that he will be.
This is just a pipedream but..... Golden State In: Harden, Love, Canaan Minnesota In: Thompson, Jones, Barnes, Golden State 1st Rockets In: Lee, Igoudala, Barea, Budinger Then trade NO Pick and Covington for Courtney Lee and Grizzlies 1st Sign Marion and sign Emeka Okafor Golden State starting 5 Curry,Harden,Green,Love,Bogut Minnesota starting 5 Rubio,Thompson/Martin,Barnes,Jones,Pekovic Rockets Line up: Beverley/Barea/Smith Igoudala/Lee/Johnson Ariza/Budinger D.Lee/Marion/DMo/Adrien Howard/Okafor/Dorsey
Barea: 30 yrs old 4.3 mil Igoudala: 30 yrs old 13.5 mil Lee: 31 yrs old 11.6 mil Marion: 36 yrs old MLE Okaford: 31 (injury proned) vet min Why would you get rid of a YOUNG cornerstone piece and surround him with over the hill players for that money?
AND Barea: 31% from 3 (defensive liability) Igoudala: 35% CLee: 34% Bud: 35% (plus defensive liability) Yeah...not making the argument you think you're making.
Why are people suggesting Wilson chandler for the TPE? The dude has value, Denver isnt going to give him away. Ridiculous
Why do I even bother. We got someone trading harden for no superstar in return. Another trading all our assets for dunleavy and Mirotic so we can start Canaan, and then we got Denver giving us Wilson chandler, only to have us flip him in a deal for rondo

I agree with this just think adrien would take Covington mins...other than that seems pretty solid
