    Look, you came up with a trade idea that Miami would do in your opinion, and now you are telling me that Miami gets worse. That doesn't add up. You need to come up with something that you think works for all teams then.

    I think it's risky for Miami, but it's probably a fair risk. Bynum is an upgrade, if he wants to be there. Losing all those players could be painful though. Maybe they don't do it indeed.

    As for Cleveland, obviously, the free agency isn't just LeBron.

    It's a great deal for Houston though. Thompson, Andersen, another prospect, even Beasley is playing well. Kind of a lot.

    Just because I wouldn't do it doesn't mean they wouldn't do it. Not sure why that's so hard to understand. I doubt Morey would done the Harden trade if he was Presti but Presti did it and that's all that matters.

    Same holds true for any FA besides Lebron. The best they can do is overpay for someone that will handcuff them with an albatross contract if they don't show signs of improving their team.

    Hou: Chris Bosh
    (A stretch 4/back up 5)

    Miami: Bynum, Varejao, Waiters
    (They would get a center, a back up center, and a perimeter player they have been asking about) *If needed add a Houston first round pick.

    Clev: Asik, Lin, Joel Anthony, DMo
    (Clean the house: get a quality defensive center, and a back up pg/sg in Lin)

    Well, Pat Riley is a good GM and it doesn't seem like they are looking to save money at the cost of winning.

    If you think a Bynum trade is bad / too risky for Miami (and the more I think of it, the more I tend to agree, maybe they should just wait and see if Bynum is cut), then I think the better approach would be to build a trade that you think makes them better. Otherwise we can just come up with whatever and say 'it doesn't make sense to me, but who knows.'

    But it's your trade, not mine. You have every right to build it however you like. It just seemed like an odd argument.

    As for FA, I don't understand your argument. They can sign good players while keeping Thompson/Zeller. In your scenario they'd be basically paying 19 mil to Asik + a bunch of borderline rotation players.

    Rocks: Rondo, Lee, Blanche, and M. Brooks for Lin, Asik, Garcia and DMo
    Fills in all needs (maybe a ring)
    Celts: Lopez, Lin, and DMo for Rondo, Lee, Olynyk, and M.
    Tank with some "HOPE"
    Nets: Asik, Olynky, and Garcia for Lopez and Blanche
    Fills in the holes with a rookie big to boot.

    Rondo is so damn overrated and I can't believe people think he would be a good fit in this system.

    Why does everyone think Miami will trade bosh for any random center? They'll blow up a championship team and any hope of keeping a big 3 for Bynum? Lol.

    Miami only needs a center for 2-3 games in the playoffs when the 3s aren't falling. Oden fits the bill just fine. If you want a big 3 player, you'll need to replace him with an equal caliber player.

    100% correct.

    Everybody needs to understand that Andrew Bynum will FOR SURE be waived in the very near future. Either Cleveland waives him or Cleveland trades him to a team that only wants to acquire Bynum for financial reasons, and that team then waives Bynum.

    NBA sports "journalism" is extremely poor. Consequently, many NBA fans do not receive good information. No one points these things out to the consumers of the NBA product.

    Houston could get in on an Andrew Bynum trade. Asik for Bynum and a first round pick or Dion Waiters. Houston then either flips Bynum for a useful rotation player or waives him.

    Or we could see this sort of three-way deal:

    Omer Asik to Cleveland;

    Andrew Bynum (who is then immediately flipped to another team or simply waived), Donatas Motiejunas, and one or more second round picks (from Houston) to Philly;

    Spencer Hawes plus an asset from Cleveland (presumably either Dion Waiters, Tyler Zeller, or a first round pick) to Houston.

    Philly could get really ambitious and flip Bynum to the Lakers for Pau Gasol. Philly would be buying super low on Gasol. The Lakers have SIGNIFICANT financial motivation to do a deal like this. For example:

    Omer Asik and Evan Turner to Cleveland;

    Pau Gasol, Dion Waiters, and Donatas Motiejunas to Philly;

    Andrew Bynum (waived immediately after trade is finalized), Lavoy Allen, and one or more second round picks (from Houston) to the Lakers;

    Spencer Hawes and Tyler Zeller (or a Cavs first round pick) to Houston.

    Look for a big Bynum trade to happen in the next several days and don't expect the likes of J.A. Adande to grasp its rationale. Houston might get involved.

    "This system" - iso, shoot 3's, feed the post when you can remember to do so, maybe a PnR here or there.

    MAYBE with Rondo there will be plays run plus he is a all star that plays "D" and passes first. His shooting is not the best, but most will over look that short coming for all the other things he does. He would HELP Harden's scoring plus take the ball out of his hands (less turnovers).

    The other players in the package:

    Blanche is a 4/5... Howard / Jones / Blanche is a better than average post rotation maybe top 3 or so in the league.

    Lee can play 1/2/3 he is a two way player not an all stat but more than survivable.

    M.Brooks was blowing up with the Nets as the only option a season or so go.

    Marion is still a good defender and I am sure he would Sign vet min next Year and the bear is a decent backup

    If asik really has a swollen knee, we won't get much at all for him. It will be a true bad contract of 15 million if he doesn't play the rest of this season.

    I think Rondo would be a very nice fit if healthy. But he's not healthy, it's not clear how he'll look when he gets back, and the Celtics have little reason to give him to the Rockets. So it seems moot.

    I still think the Rockets are poking around for Deron Williams with Lin and Asik being involved.

    I am not the voice of everyone, and I doubt it would happen. This thread is titled Random. I am only speculating at what I wish would transpire, but on the basis that it could transpire.:p

    I think the Nets would do it with Lopez out that team is going nowhere even in the East.

    Talk about going all in though. Still need a backup center and a wing defender.

    Brook Lopez, Lin, and DMo for Rondo, Lee, Olynyk, and M. Brooks

    Tank with some "HOPE"... It is not going to happen for them this year, but they may sell so Lin-tickets in a down season. (They will git a better draft spot)

    That is fair, IMO... Your injury for mine, plus Lin and DMo (is a wildcard - Beast or Bust) for servicable / scrap.

    NEXT YEAR --
    *B. Lopez, Sullinger/Bass, Green/Wallace, Crawford (if resigned), Lin
    *PLUS whatever they pick-up in the draft (high pick - there are a lot of wings with high upside)
    *Humphries falls off the books - Lopez fills his $ spot (+/-)

    They are better after the trade than before, IMO.

    "I think they've got plenty of great options at that position. More and more, I'm starting to think Thabo (Sefolosha) may be gone. And the way Lamb has played this past month, there's no reason to think he can't fit right in and do an admirable job. Plus, with Andre Roberson sliding into the role behind him, they'd have a nice offense-defense mix at the shooting guard spot." - Oklahoman

    I have no idea how credible this is but I would love to pry away Thabo from the Thunder. His defense is top notch and he's a very capable outside shooter. I have no idea what kind of offer would spark interest either and given their recent history Pretsi might not want to do business again with Morey haha.

    Terrance Jones and DMo for someone that will fight in the post. James Harden for someone that gives defense every night. His lack of defense is a big **** you to Dwight Howard.
