This is actually a very good trade attempt. We'd be thin at PG (seriously, just Bev and Brooks), and the risk is Hawes and Deng leaves via free agency and we're just left with a 1st round pick which with the Bobcats getting Asik will be out of the lottery or where the cream of next year's talents are. Not sure if Hawes wants to play back-up 5 to Howard much, and he's an even worse defender for fast 4s than Asik (despite being able to play some PF). Basically, we'd have to rely on being able to flip Deng and Hawes at the trade deadline, and I'm not sure how much we'd be able to get for 2 month rentals of these players out of teams that are in the playoff mix (otherwise wouldn't want them). At best, also late 1st round picks.
out lin+Asik; in with Deng, Hawes and Cats 1st round pick? what pipe dream is that? You can get 6 teams involved, with 5 of them take a little less than they give up, then you have one team comes out like a bandit. In reality, no GM would trade away pick+talent and good pg for Asik and no GM would trade away Turner and Hawes for much less value like that.
Love this though you might need to give that pick to Philly for them to agree. I can handle Bev/AB at PG when you've addressed the wing depth and backup C plus kept Jones. This might also be Morey's plan to clear Asik and Lin off the books a year early and allow Deng and Hawes to walk.
Morey is taking his time with the 5-6 offers already cause he is just trying to see which players he can keep after the trade for good or which players he will flip again for feb 20th, so he is trying to weigh the options he has in terms of the best players vs. the best fit players for the team. Plus, he wants to make sure he can get as many high picks as he can too. This deal will go down Thursday
Man, that Jeremy Lin/D-Mo duo always gets the job done. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mfw5qoo http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ms84dlk
Strange I thought Lin was one of our special players and was liked so much by the Owner Les Alexander? I also thought that Lin was loved so much by many Rockets supporters all over the Globe! It doesn't seem likely that Morey would trade one of our better players with so little in return! Bang go our supporters from The Far East! Y
Are you sure that Bargnani is already tradable? I can't remember when he was traded to the Knicks. Just in general terms, he may be a card that NY can't play with at this point.
You can't be serious! I would never do that trade. MKG is tthe antithesis of the Rocket BB. His 3pt % is zero.
Bargnani? Are you serious. If you thought Harden's defense was bad, Bargnani is atrocious with a capital A.
Houston Out: Asik+ D-Mo + Brewer Houston In: Thad Young+ Spencer Hawes + Nick Young Philly Out: Thad Young+ Evan Turner+ Hawes Philly In: Gasol + D-Mo + Brewer + 1st LA Out: Gasol+ Young + 1st LA In: Asik + Turner http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=o5n9cjo
I also think these four teams make the most sense for this trade, but you are a bit too optimistic IMO. Also we are not trading Lin. Let's keep this simpler: Rockets in: Luol Deng Bobcats in: Omer Ask Bulls in: Evan Turner, Omri Casppi, Ronnie Brewer, minor draft consideration from Bobcats Sixers in: M. Kidd-Gilchrist, rights to Llull or Papanikolaou Deng is the best available we can trade for, fits our team well (wing defender+small ball PF). Bobcat is the best destiny for Asik because he matches their team's direction (trying to win), philosophy (defense) and need. Sixers the biggest buyer of future assets with high risk and high return, and can actually toss money at Euro stashes. Bulls get out of the tax this season. They trade expiring for expiring, but in a much younger player who can create offense better and is more worthy to be retained in the offseason.
