That's too much to give up for an injured Rondo, who would be a horrible fit next to Harden anyway. The Celtics got nothing we want, guys.

no, KG is 36 years old. the only reason he came back (he was gonna retire last year) is because of paul pierce. he's only averaged about 30.5 minutes in the last 5 years.

the rocket's pace would be bad for KG.

Well according to that, he has a no trade clause so it's not like we can trade for him

    To Boston: Royce White
    To Houston: Jason Terry

    Thoughts?

It crossed my mind after hearing about Rondo. But he is 36. Kind of a deal breaker

Danny Ainge is going to very likely insist on anybody who wants Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett to also take back one or more of these overpaid mediocrities (Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Brandon Bass, and especially Jeff Green) on the roster. Daryl Morey says, "No, thanks." But, as has been mentioned repeatedly (at least by me) on this thread, it's possible that Houston would emerge as the third wheel in trade with Celtics and a poorly managed and/or desperate team that is stupid enough to take back some of Boston's junk.

For example, maybe Houston agrees to take back Jason Terry if somebody (Boston or the poorly managed/desperate mystery team) will give Houston a first round pick. Although I am guessing that Houston only does that if Daryl Morey is able to get a fourth team involved, and send Terry to that team in exchange for a useless veteran on an expiring contract (e.g., Richard Hamilton).

One possibility would be something like this:

Rudy Gay and Toney Douglas to Boston

    Paul Pierce to Memphis

Celtics first round pick and Mystery Team's $4-$5 mil expiring contract to Houston

Jason Terry to Mystery Team (presumably a title contender that's going for broke)

Obviously Houston isn't interested in the aging, overpaid Terry (well, not obvious to everybody here, for whatever reason, I guess) but some idiot out there may value his "leadership" and "playoff experience." So Houston gets involved to facilitate a Celtics salary dump and walks away with a Celtics first round pick, which figures to be around #15 overall in this year's draft.

Although I honestly can't figure out a team that both a) is dumb enough to do this and b) has a $4-$5 mil expiring contract (of a worthless player) on the roster.
