Here's a wild gambit trade if we still had Lin:

Trade Lowry and Scola for Andrew Bynum (Trade Machine accepted this).

We get a 24 yr old center for our future. Pushes Goran to starter, him and Lin would have platooned and whoever plays better emerges as longtime starter. Frees up PPatt to take over starting PF. Gives room for D-Mo when he comes over next year, presumably as a swing big man that can go PF or C depending on matchup. Can use Dally as a trade chip later on when he becomes eligible, or just tell him adios after a year if no takers.

Clever idea working Granger out for Martin; but the Lakers say no. As it stands today, reports are they are unwilling to part with Bynum & Gasol in a package for Dwight Howard- with that said, Lowry, Granger, Dally, and Scola is definitely not going to change that unwillingness.

had we signed Nene & Gasol, would that not be the best package for Dwight, possibly making our lineup

    Lowry/Lin/Flynn
    Lee/Bud
    Parsons/Williams
    Patterson/Morris
    Dwight/Hill

I like that team. I like that team very much.

The only reason the Lakers say no is because they are still holding out hope for trading for Dwight directly themselves. The trade I am suggesting may actually win them a ring this season.

Lowry/Kobe/Granger/Dally/Scola + Fish/Metta/Barnes/Troy/Josh off the bench?? Come on man.

And no, I'm not suggesting this trade to help the Lakers. I'm simply suggesting a trade that gets us Dwight.

Lakers would trade for Dwight and give up both Bynum and Gasol to get him if they knew he would extend and not opt out. But Dwight has made it clear he ain't gonna stay because they have no way to add DWill to that team in free agency because of Kobe's salary. Kobe's salary is a cap killer. The best the Lakers can do is to add one max player and pieces parts around Kobe and the other max salary deal. The other possibility is to break up Pau and Bynum and solve all their problems at once. Get a great PG (Lowry), another scoring wing to play alongside Kobe and to be there to score when Kobe goes to the bench, a defensive big (Dally) and another post up spot up scoring option in Scola.

However, I doubt LA does it because they would not want to help us build a dynasty with Dwight and DWill. They'd rather keep what they got, let Dwight go to NJ and find other trades where they could move Gasol for a PF and a PG and keep Bynum in the middle. But the real answer to their dilemma is to trade both Bynum and Gasol and get back everything they need around Kobe to win a ring.

I have read alot on the board about us going after Iggy but with the sixers doing so well and Iggy being an all-star that isn't going to happen. I think Phili is the trade partner we need to engage but we should be inquiring about Evan Turner. He has all the tools to be a superstar in this league They are in a position where they may be willing to give him up so they can win now so here we go.

Hou gets: Evan Turner, Nocioni, and phili's first rounder

Phi gets: Kevin Martin, Chase Budinger

This trade helps them because they get a go to scorer they are lacking to help them along thier push for homecourt advantage and in the playoffs and only takes out a marginal rotation player for them.

We do the trade because Evan Turner is a solid starter in this league who with the minutes i think could be a yearly all star and 20ppg scorer with defense and playmaking ability. Also we get Phili's first round pick wich gives us two to play with after fulfilling our obligation to NJ. Nocioni's contract runs out after next season so we have to bite the bullet on that but it's the price we would have to pay to get a young player with huge upside. If needed we could swap out nocioni and bud for scola and brand.

Wow I actually like this trade. Everyone seems to benefit, except for the fact that Hou doesn't have a 1st pick this year, they only have Nyk's first.

I would also let Memphis keep Sam Young so they're more willing to make the trade. They get rid of Mayo and bring in a better, longer and more experienced shooter.
Orlando get good young talent in Mayo, Goran, PPat, Bud and a 1st rounder. Plus veterans in Dally and Scola to guide their rebuild.
    And ofcourse we get Dwight.

    Everyone wins?

There's no way SAS is giving up Splitter, he's their future. I also don't want Pau Gasol his contract is ugly. 18.7m/yr and its on 3 years? HELL NO
That's more than LeBron is getting...
