Didn't someone suggest something like kevin martin and Scola for James Harden? I've said before that OKC needs a post player, and Scola could either be their 6th man, or start in certain situations for Ibaka. Kevin Martin would help stretch the floor, and he would also make opposing teams pay for doubling Durant or Westbrook. The trade machine is down this week to update it with the new CBA, so I can't try any trade scenarios between us and the Thunder. Another player on my wish lost is Nic Batum. He is a restricted free agent, so itll be interesting to see if Portland lets him go with Gerald Wallace only having 1 year left on his contract.
We just have too many players. We could drop like 4 guys and still have a rotation... The more I watch Kevin Martin struggle, the more I wonder about if we could just swap him and a part or two for Monta Ellis. Martin is getting some open shots, but they are the kind that Ellis thrives on more than Martin. Martin+Hill+Budinger for Ellis.
I'm personally hoping for a Martin to Toronto trade, with Houston getting back an expiring contract that they could cut(Barbosa), cap space and a future top 10 protected 1st round pick. Oh, by the way, my rationale for Toronto is that they are the only team in the bottom third of the league in scoring that can both potentially make the playoffs and has a roster situation that could use a scoring swing man like Martin. Boom.
With Parsons playing out of his gourd and Morris doing the same in the D League, Bud and Williams are HIGHLY expendable. I'd love a draft pick for T-Will and I really feel like Bud could net Anthony Randolph who I love love love love.
I'd love to trade for Randolph, too, but I don't think Bud gets it done. We need a 3 team trade with Houston, Minn, and ? to trade Kmart for Randolph, another player for salary purposes, and a 1st round pick.
Since we just got done with Charlotte, here's a trade if we can't get Dwight. Kevin Martin, TWill, Jordan Hill, second rounder for Diaw, Diop, and Biyombo.
Looks like thibs has been playing Asik and Gibson down the stretch instead of noah and boozer. How about dalembart, hill, and Martin for Noah and Korver? Who says no? For them, they are gonna have to pay Gibson and Asik soon and that would open up some minutes for them. The trio of Hamilton, deng, and Martin is rediculous.
Well my idea of a consolidation trade is a package for Eric Gordon. We need an upgrade at the wing and IMHO EG is one of the few guys who are better than KM and Lee but is still not a superstar (and therefore is obtainable). NO isn't looking to tank at all and would be willing to part with EG for good players across the board. PP+Martin+Lee/Dragic for EG. PP is nice, but the thing is Hill is adequate as a C/PF combo and we have D-Mo coming in next season.
That was really secondary to me. The real driver is to make a compelling team for Dwight Howard. I'd probably go ahead and throw Bud in the trade to sweeten the pot and minimize the logjam at SF. Then decline all options on 09ers and cut adrien Then you go to Dwight Howard with this roster: PG - Lowry SG - Lee SF - AI9/Granger, Morris, Parsons PF - Scola, PPat C - ??? Tell him come be THE Man, but still get two all star level side kicks and the best 4th/5th men in the league. We arent LA or NY but we're a bigger market than Orlando and equal to Dallas (which is on his list). If he won't sign here just don't cut Dalembert (That decision can be made after he agrees to sign). Then I would try to resign Dragic and Twill if it isnt too late.
history has shown teams that are willing to trade unprotected draft picks for veteran players have been teams either on the cusp of the playoffs trying to get in or 8 and 7 seeds welling to cash in and pull off an upset. assuming the deadline was today and the standings were to look like they do today look for the rockets to deal with teams like cleveland, toronto, utah ... Teams like Sac, Char, GS cant trade their picks because they are promised to other teams. Utah has multiple picks they may trade with an already young roster and 2010-2011 draftees they could take a kevin martin in hopes of securing that final western playoff spot. other than that the only teams that trade away draft picks would include them as an incentive to dump salary... i.e. Clippers. with the amnesty rule i think we will see alot less of that. Either way, this trade deadline could not come sooner. I think alot of usually bad teams might be trying to ride their hot hand and sneak in to the playoffs and will need guys like Scola, Martin, Dragic, and Lee. I would love to roll into the 2012 draft with 4 picks. package two mid rounders (14-18) for one in the 6-9 range.
ok so i honestly believe adelman and his statements about minny... i also honestly believe that minny hired adelman to turn their program around to respectability... i also believe they really want martin... so i also honestly believe kevin love could be had... they have young studs rubio and derik williams to build thier future around... i know love has broke out to be thier star but he isnt leading them anywere as they still suck... minny knows it needs a change of scenery so here is what i propose... out:Scola/Martin/Ppat/Bud/Morris/both 2nd rd picks this upcoming draft In:Love/Beasley/randolph Minnesota outlook: minny gets two good vets(scola/martin) and 3 decent prospects for the future as well as 2 2nd rounders... while adelman gets 3 players that know his system well and thrive in it... while losing thier stud they would IMO end up with a better record this year and help teach their rookies and young players the system and jumpstart their road to recovery... rubio/ridnour/barea kmart/wesley/webster d.will/wesley/webster scola/ppat/motiejunas darko/pekovic/motiejunas Rockets outlook: while we lose our three youngest and i would say brightest prospects along with our two solid vets and 2 2nd rounders this is the type of deal that lands a stud like love... obviously we get a beast in love and finally have an inside presence that goes both ways... we get randolph who everybody on this thread seems to be really high on and a beasley who everyone says is a bust but someone who morey likes to give a second chance to... and i think he makes decent depth...we keep our 1st rd picks and open up space for lee...we are still weak at the 3 spot but we can address that.... but having a star in love and a very close if not already star in lowry and still have a solid support cast because i believe lee will shine... it opens up our doors a lot more to the likes of dwight wanting to sign here... Lowry/Dragic/Flynn Lee/t.will/dragic Parsons/beasley/t.will Love/Randolph/beasley/hill Dalembert/love/randolph/hill/thabeet that is a high motor, defensive sounding team with alot of potential... and if we dont make the playoffs thats ok because we'll have two first rounders... if we do make the playoffs thats great because i am more enthused about having this type of lineup then the one we have know... now add a trade consisting of hill/beasley+t.will+flynn for nic batum and thats a starting five i would love...
my mistake... i meant morris i was originally gonna include motiejunas but changed my mind to morris half way thru seeing as morey loves 7foot prospects and morris is most likely worth more trade wise...
Love isnt getting traded. If the trade machine was working, I'd like to see how a deal around kmart and Stephen Jackson would work.
love isnt getting traded.I wish the trade maachine was working so I could see a Kmart for Stephen Jackson trade would work.
Minnesota Kevin Martin Samuel Dalembert Courtney Lee Chase Budinger 22 Million Incoming Houston Derrick Williams Martell Webster Wesley Johnson Nikola Pekovic 18 Million Incoming ------------------------------------------------------ Minnesota 1. Ricky Rubio/Jose Juan Barea 2. Kevin Martin/Courtney Lee 3. Chase Budinger/Michael Beasley 4. Kevin Love/Anthony Randolph 5. Samuel Dalembert/Darko Milicic Houston *The most important aspect of the trade is that we get the face of our franchise, Derrick Williams. He will not get that opportunity in Minnesota with Rubio and Love. *We use him at his natural position, the PF. To combat the size, we always play a big SF. Enter Marcus Morris and Chandler Parsons. Our future looks like this... 1. Kyle Lowry 2. Wesley Johnson/Terrence Williams 3. Chandler Parsons/Marcus Morris 4. Derrick Williams/Patrick Patterson 5. We would have obvious problems, but we would have an interesting future and great forwards to cover up Derrick William's biggest weakness. With this kind of supporting cast, he would become a superstar and a badly needed face of the franchise. In future drafts, we look for a stud SG/C... (I would be prepared to give up Luis Scola and take on some more crap from Minny If need be)
OKC are in win now now mode, thgerefore they require players who are in ready now mode. They gave away White and Mullens because they needed too much developing. Marcus Morris for Cole Aldridge. Morris is more NBA ready.
1. He plays the same position as Kevin Love. 2. Realistically, I don't think they can share the court effectively. 3. The Wolves are in "win now" mode. 4. Adelman is one of the few that LOVES Kevin Martin, Courtney Lee & Chase Budinger. 5. The Wolves biggest weakness is their Wings, and that was one of the Rockets biggest strengths last year in Adelman's offense. 6. Not much room for growth with Love and Rubio taking all the spotlight. Williams would be the face of our franchise. 7. Minnesota was considering trading Williams on draft day, but they did not get what they wanted. 8. The Wolves do not have a draft pick this year, so they need to win. We have perfect complimentary pieces to surround their potential superstars= Love & Rubio... Martin/Lee/Budinger/Dalembert/Scola... Whatever they want...
