Houston in: Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, Chris Duhon, Ish Smith Houston out: Lowry, Martin, Scola, Dragic, Dalembert, 14, 16, Dallas pick Sacramento in: Lowry, 14, Dallas pick Sacramento out: 5 Orlando in: 5, 16, Martin, Dalembert Orlando out: Dwight Howard, Chris Duhon, Ish Smith Lakers out: Pau Gasol Lakers in: Deron Williams Nets out: Deron Williams Nets in: Luis Scola, Goran Dragic Duhon/Smith Lee Parsons/Budinger Gasol/Patterson Howard/Motiejunas
with the recent ESPN reports http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/46492/rockets-set-sights-on-moving-up-in-draft My trade suggestions: Trade Scola, + #14 + #16 to Sacramento for #5 (solid vet PF to mentor Cousins will really help his game and attitude) Trade Lowry to Toronto for #8 Trade #5 + #8 + Dalembert for Dwight Howard. Resign Dragic/Lee/Camby Sign Ish Smith Dragic/Ish Martin/Lee Parsons/Budinger/Morris DMo/Pat Dwight/Camby Woah!!!!
Here's my best guess on how the Rockets can land both the 5th and 8th pick. (In case they want to trade for Howard ) [rquoter] Rockets receive: 2012 Sac 5th pick (Andre Drummond), 2012 Tor 8th pick (Damian Lillard), Amir Johnson Raptors receive: Tyreke Evans, Chuck Hayes and 16th pick. Kings receive: Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola and 14th pick [/rquoter] Rockets Roster (pre-Howard) PG: Goran Dragic(FA-signing), Damian Lillard SG: Kevin Martin, Courtney Lee(FA-signing) SF: Chandler Parsons, Marcus Morris, Chase Budinger PF: Donatas Motiejunas, Patrick Patterson C: Andre Drummond, Marcus Camby(FA-signing), Greg Smith
Put Matt Barnes going to Indiana instead and it MIGHT have legs (key word being might). But MWP? HELL NO!
Rockets trade #5 (drummond), martin, 16 Get bynum, expiring contract Orlando trade dwight get 5, Martin,16 La trade bynum, expiring contract In thus scenario, we get a great big that will most likely resign here as opposed to dwight likely bolting off (without dwill). Dwight would most likely resign in la. Sign dragic, lee and Camby back We could also look at Eric Gordon for scola and others especially if the hornets draft waiters and Davis.
Sam Amick: Well, that didn't take long: with Atlanta GM Danny Ferry in his first day on the job, the message is spreading that he'll be looking to shake up the Hawks' roster and rebuild in some capacity. No specifics yet, but forward Josh Smith has tremendous value and an expiring contract (next season at $13.2 million), center Al Horford will be healthy again and is an attractive piece as well (four years, $48 million remaining) and shooting guard Joe Johnson has the sort of deal that any sane GM would try - and likely try in vain - to get rid of (four years and $89.3 million left). Your crazy trade proposals in 3..2..1..
Hou-Sac Samuel Dalembert + Marcus Morris + 16 pick for John Salmons + 5 pick Hou-Tor Kyle Lowry for 8 pick Hou - Magic 5+8+14+ Patterson + Kevin Martin for D12 + Turkoglu Free Agency...Deron(18 mi) + Kevin Garnett (MLE) + Marcus Camby (bianual) + Andre Miller (minimun) Deron Williams/Andre Miller John Salmons/Chase Budinger Chandler Parsons/Hedo Turkoglu Kevin Garnett/Donatas Motiejunas Dwight Howard/Marcus Camby
The Magic didn't take on any bad contracts when trading for Vince Carter in 2009. The Heat didn't take on any bad contracts when trading for Shaquille O'Neal in 2004. Those are just two examples but I'm sure there are others out there - I'm just too lazy to look for them right now.
In this trade Greivis Vasquez (back up to Jack) with Henry (D league) and moving down six spots in "this" draft (a lot of soild players with similar talent still on the board at 16 - PLUS they drafted in the first spot already) there will be a back up piont as good as Greivis Vasquez still there... ..for .. TWO starters that have both successfully logged starter's minutes in the league at the spots you just traded away to help out the rookie. Both fit with Davis, too - Dalembert soild defensive vet and Budinger spacing/scoring with some team D, too. Moreover their contracts are cheap/short for what you get. That has a lot of value to most.
