I think they would rather have the bigger guy, yeah. It's tough to gauge what Parsons value is on the trade market. I was just thinking if they were going to trade their C for a PG that they'd want at least a 4 or 5 back, maybe Dally too. Wasn't a swing at Parsons at all.
-makes less than a million a year -for the next three years - two more than team option -he has size or a small forward -6' 9", 227 lbs -can play D - according to Kobe -starts - he earned his starting spot a play-off team - as a rookie (2nd rounder) -2 way player (even more so in time) - no summer league or off-season - lockout -#3 player coming out of last years draft according to the newest reports I think his trade value is very high only the highest on the team - and maybe the league (for the money spent).
In this year's draft Hou only has NY pick currently at #16! - Trade #16 & Patterson to move up and draft Meyers Leonard - Trade Lowry, Scola, Dalembert, & Dal 1st for Bosh & Chalmers - S&T Lee plus Hou 13' 1st for Harden - Resign Dragic & Camby - Bring over Motiejunas Dragic, Chalmers Harden, Martin Parsons, Budinger, Morris Bosh, Motiejunas(rookie) Camby, Leonard(rookie) -MIA does it if they don't win it all I believe they'll look to trade Bosh for more depth added a top 10 PG to replace Chalmers, won't loose much adding Scola, & adds a quality C in Dalembert. The team also gets a late 1st and cuts salary. -OKC does it to add a quality SG to play at both ends of the floor while also adding a late 1st to continue building. Both Harden & Ibaka are RFA & with Westbrook & Durant with max salaries I believe they'll work harder to keep Ibaka for their frontcourt & don't run the risk of loosing Harden for nothing. -HOU does it obviously to get 2 all-star caliber players in Bosh & Harden! Resigning Dragic to make him starter with solid backup in Chalmers & Camby cause he wants to be here also for vet leadership in the front-court & gives Leonard someone to learn from. Also frees up room for Motiejunas next season. Nice mixture of veterans and young players. Consolidates assests & makes Hou a top 3 team in the West Championship contender!!
give up ppat for leonard? he's going to be picked around the nyk pick area anyway. And can we even s&t players anymore? If so, it would take more than that to get harden. Lee, Ppat, Bud, and future pick(s) for Harden would be needed (and that's if that move can happen).
Decent ideas. While I have already said I dislike helping Miami out that does work. I think for Harden though, to get OKC to give up on keeping Ibaka & Harden a year early will definitely take more than that. I do feel like Harden will be the odd man out, but they will want another 1st round pick or Bud at least in addition to Lee & No. 13 1st. Not that high on Leonard, especially if it requires trading Patterson and trading up. Don't forget the Rockets, have Greg Smith in the pipeline. With a proper Summer of coaching and summer league, I would not be surprised to see him in the rotation.
Do you put Iggy at SG? 'Cause, he can't shoot for crap. That said: Lowry Dragic Lee Iggy Parsons Would probably be the best defensive back court in basketball. Our 4-5 spots would still be mediocre as hell though.
I see what you guys mean, I think this would be better for all sides!! - Just draft Meyers Leonard - Trade Lowry, Scola, Dalembert, & Patterson for Bosh & Chalmers - S&T Lee plus Hou 13' 1st & Dal 1st for Harden - Resign Dragic & Camby - Bring over Motiejunas - Also I do see G. Smith & C. Fortson making the team & sent to the D-league!! MIA gets a lottery pick in Patterson & helps their front-court depth!! OKC gets Lee & 2 upcoming 1st rd draft picks!! HOU gets the all-stars in Harden & Bosh!! Championship Line-up!! Dragic, Chalmers, Fortson Harden, Martin Parsons, Budinger, Morris Bosh, Motiejunas Camby, Leonard, Smith Personally making the trade with MIA would make them better but we thought with their big three they where already NBA's best!! With OKC like I said Harden would be the odd man out!!
I like the Idea, but Rockets can't trade their 2013 1st round pick given that we're trading our 2012 1st round pick. Teams can't trade 1st round picks in back-to-back years. The earliest pick we can trade is our 2014 1st rounder.
You have some good ideas. Can't say I know Meyers Leonard's game very well. It'd take more than Lee + that draft pick to get Harden. OKC would be stupid to give him up, although money WILL be an issue. Someone'll offer Harden the max, and after watching games where he rapes the Rockets, I wouldn't argue against that offer. I'd take Bosh over what we have, certainly. Don't know if he's THE power forward we need, but he's worthy of being an All Star so he is a step up from Flop/Bad Haircut Scola (who's played well until showing recent signs of fatigue/backsliding).
My crazy, but not completely unrealistic offseason, for the Rockets. Trade 1: Kevin Martin for Andre Iguodala According to a guy who apparently is a Philly insider, the Sixers have offered this numerous times as they feel Martin is a better fit alongside Turner/Holiday whom they consider thier core. With thier free fall this season, I see them more motivated than ever to make a deal. Trade 2 Luis Scola, Chase Budinger and the Dallas Pick for Josh Smith Smith has requested a trade in the past, and Houston suprisingly popped up on his list. Smith has one year left on his deal, so they might choose to move him this offseason or risk losing him for nothing. Atlanta has never really had a true low post presence and could combo Horford/Scola at the 4/5. Trade 3 Kyle Lowry, Samuel Dalembert, Marcus Morris, rights to Montejounas, NY 2012 #1 for Dwight Howard. Orlando is a trainwreck and it looks like they will have another early exit in the playoffs. Perhaps they look to move Howard earlier to avoid another year of wondering what is going to happen. They get a great player in Lowry and 3 young guys to start rebuilding thier team. Houston's new look: Dragic / Llull Lee / (2nd rounder) Iggy / Parsons Smith / Patterson Howard / Camby Rockets rent Howard, with a high probability to re-sign him by putting one of the best defensive lineups on the court for 2012-2013, as well as 2 of his best friends in Josh Smith and Courtney Lee. Rockets take on a lot of salary but would instantly be one of the 2 best teams in the league.
Trade 1 you do that move and run away. Throw Morris and a future lotto-protected first (if we make the playoffs this year) in there as well. Trade 2 They may do that, but they may want center as well. Possibly Dalembert and they throw in Marvin Williams? Trade 3 What about Lowry, Iggy (from trade 1), Ppat, NY pick (draft Leonard), for D12, Richardson? Could that work? If the magic want to stay competitive after D12, this would be the best move for them and they get Richardson's contract off the books. (Llull wouldn't come over until after next season.) Dragic Lee/ Richardson Parsons/ Williams Smith/ Donatas D12/ Camby Sign a cheap pg vet and get ready to contend!
FYI the Rockets will not trade half of the team We'll draft/trade 3-4 players by next year...Murray is probably adding a SF and still looking to upgrade at C
