I like the move especially since we aren't contending at all. Jordan can possibly learn from a big man's coach so he can be more than just an athlete. A Patterson (when he's had a full offseason to rehabilitate from that surgery) and Jordan frontcourt wouldn't be too shabby. And maybe they can sell more tickets with a hometown guy playing for us.

His contract ends in 2014. He will in his 30s at that time as well.

My last post summed up: Favors & Jefferson to the Rockets | Gasol, Hill & Lowry to the Jazz | Harris & Scola to the Lakers.

Throw in any of the following if anyone wants them: Morris, Flynn, Williams...try to get Morris out of here just to get him off the books.

I know DeAndre is not a centerpiece. But I do think he helps--he's a lot younger than Dalembert and has a lot more room for improvement. I think McHale could work wonders with a 23-year old guy who has his physical tools. Plus, he's from Houston. He would also be a better centerpiece if we try to deal for Howard than would Martin. We could combine him with draft picks, Motiejunas, young assets, etc.

I like Martin a lot but I don't think it's a big step down to go from him to Lee. Lee is not as good of an offensive player, but he makes up for it by playing excellent man defense.

Why OKC does this: Turns a bunch of crappy contracts into productive rotation players. More importantly, I think this trade makes them a bit better; Westbrook and Durant already need the ball a lot, OKC's weakness is bench depth and overall frontcourt play outside of Ibaka. Ibaka/Patterson/Dalembert is a slightly above average frontcourt instead of a below average one. Dragic is better than any of their backup point guards. Martin is no Harden, but he would sign a cheaper extension after next season than Harden would, and he's a good SG.

Why Rockets do this: To get Harden. Deerrrr

After that I would go after Roy Hibbert and Brook Lopez. If they can be had via trade somehow without losing Lowry, get them. Otherwise offer them big money in free agency and dare their teams to match.

We could do a lot worse than to build around Lowry, Harden, Motiejunas, and Hibbert.

^I don't see the Jazz doing this trade, so I came up with a better one. My natural instinct was to **** them over.

This trade makes sense for everyone...considering Nash and Williams will be available. We have a lot of players to swing over the Lakers, and the Jazz.

Why we do it: Rebounds, post scoring, defense, and shot blocking.

Why the Jazz do it: They save money, there is a good chance they will lose Al and maybe Harris when they become free agents. Harris hasn't been playing well for them, and they upgrade there starting guards tremendously. They finally find PT for their young guys. If it takes Patterson as well, then it's still a go.

Why the Lakers do it: They finally get a PG without losing much inside. Give them Morris too if they want him.

The Rockets have so many assets to get land these two players but the Jazz have to play ball. Why wouldn't they want to improve their team now, save money, and improve the outlook of their team.

Al Jefferson in a Rockets uniform and being coached by McHale would be very nice ... perhaps this trade is also a possibility and we can keep Lowry in this scenario: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=6674119&postcount=2347

Hou recieves : Pau gasol , anthony parker
    Cleveland Recieves : Kevin Martin
Lal recieves : Ramon sessions , luis scola , omri casspi

Hou gets Pau without giving up lowry ,and a good sg rotation of anthony parker and courtney lee

Cleveland gets a guy who will take the pressure off kyrie and a competent sg they can then build on kyrie martin thompson varejao core and can then swing jamisons 15 m expiring to someone for other pieces or picks because they arent making the playoffs this year

Lal get their PG , scola a very good replacement for gasol more complimentary to bynum and omri casspi a lil dept and save 5 mill from gasol's contract they can then use their trade exception to explore more depth issues

Cleveland isn't going to give up Casspi for that horrible Martin contract. They are rebuilding so why would they want him?

Calderon is actually fairly decent. They won't take Walton, he's washed up. Dragic might not stay there after this season (then again, Euros love Toronto; it's as close to home as they're gonna get, here in North America).

I agree about Walton, but the Lakers can trade someone else (Barnes ?) to Toronto instead of Walton.
